Now that CAVS have lost a quality PF and OKC have surplus heres 3 trade offers that could help both teams.

OFFER 1 .
CAVS trade E.Snow exp , B.Thomas exp and 2009 2nd
CAVS recieve PF Joe Smith exp and SG/SF D Wilkins exp2010

OKC trade Joe Smith and D Wilkins
OKC recieves E Snow and B Thomas and CAVS 2009 2nd

OFFER 2.

CAVS trade E Snow,JJ Hickson and B Thomas for OKC C Wilcox and D Wilkins

OFFER 3.

CAVS trade E Snow and 2009 1st for OKC PF Chris Wilcox

All 3 trades help both teams CAVS to win now without touching 2010 capspace and OKC for future/expirings

Out of those I take option #1. Obviously Joe Smith fits in well here and Damien Wilkins could start at the SG, or replace Wally when he's dealt.

I would be surprised if OKC makes another deal with the Cavs, we have done 2 in a row with Presti though..

The reason is simple CAVS have Snows large expiring hes not a starter/or wanted and you guys want to win now.OKC shedding unwanted contracts and adding picks there totally rebuilding all wilcox, mason, watson, marshall, wilkins and joe smith are not in their long term future plans so all possibly avaliable for expirings and draft picks.Hence CAVS are perfect trading partners.

There is a rule under the CBA that prevents a team from trading for someone they just traded (e.g. Joe Smith) for a certain amount of time. I forget what the length of time is, and I'm too lazy to look it up

There is no chance that the Cavs trade Hickson

Trade deadline looks the perfect time then.

i think i remember hearing that it was one year (there was a chi cle trade where we got gooden back and it had been discussed) but i'm not sure if that person looked it up. Like i said before we won't give up hickson or our 1st.

Wilcox has more upside than Joe smith age being one big factor so believe OKC will be looking for prospect/1st for him .They got last year spurs 2009 1st for kurt thomas and wilcox is far better player and far more potential. Smith on the other hand could be dealt with wilkins for snow, thomas and cavs 2nd no problem.looks at good deal at trade deadline to me.

What if the Okies cut Smith so we could sign him and then we do some type of deal then?

Wilcox has no real potential. He's been in the league for 6-7 years. At this point he's not really going to show anything new that he hasn't already. Sure he's more physical than Smith, but I'd surely debate whether he's a more talented player than Kurt Thomas.

"A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30) unless the player has been waived."

What's in it for OKC?
I understand Hickson for Wilcox, but why would OKC consider other deals, basically trading useful expirings for useless expirings, with a late 1st in 2nd deal.
Wilcox has some skill, is upgrade over anything you have at 4 offensivelly and is ready now, could also really thrive with Lebron. JJ is promising, but getting to Wilcox level will take a few years.
