I bet this wont make the Wiretap (LeBron related)

"I've never given no indication I was leaving Cleveland," James said. "I never gave any indication I didn't like being here, every time I'm asked that question. I love being here. I love playing in front of these fans. My family is here. I grew up 30 miles away from here. I've never given any indication that I did not like playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now I did say I like the Yankees and the Cowboys. It has nothing to do with the Cavaliers."

James smiled as he again explained his allegiance to out-of-town teams, a fact that rubs some Cleveland fans the wrong way.

"Am I not allowed to be a fan of what team I want?" he said "When I grew up watching sports, the Cowboys were the team to love. If I say I like Michael Jordan, is that a problem? If I didn't say (Cavaliers All-Star) Mark Price, is that a problem? Is it? That's who I grew up watching. These are the teams and people who inspired me when I was growing up.

"I have now broken it down for all of you."

I wonder if any of those quotes will make the wiretap or will make it on ESPN tomorrow.... of course not. Here we have LeBron going out of his way to pronounce his love for Cleveland and the Cavs and no one in the national media will say a word about it, but we all know full well if LeBron had said something about how much he likes Brooklyn style pizza it would be front page headlines.

This one goes out to Steven A, Skip Brainless, New Yorkers, and BSPN... Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

That's because Newsday won't write an article. Not to mention the fact that this site is pretty anti Cavalier as well.

Does anyone else find it amusing that this article is almost a full day old and there is still no wiretap article regarding it?

By the way, no real point in posting it on the general board since folks will just say "what did you expect him to say". Somehow his actual words have alot less significance than the fact he's wearing a hat.

i hopr and pray lebron stays a cav for his career. anyways what would happen if lebron went to a hockey game in toronto? or he went to mardi gras in new orleans or disney world in orlando. i guess we would have rumors about him playing for all those teams.

Cavs fans don't doubt it, it's the hypocrisy of the NY media and many on this site that incenses us.

I agree with TheOutlaw here that most CAVs fans are a little irritated by the National press coverage of crazy stores about what teams Lebron likes in other sports meaning he leaving.

Looks like Lebron is doing O.K. playing for the CAVs in Cleveland according to Forbes:

James ranked 17th:

BusinessWeek magazine ranks James 17th in its listing of the 100 most powerful people in sports. Two active athletes ranked ahead of James: golfer Tiger Woods, who is No. 1, and cyclist Lance Armstrong (15). Retired NBA great Michael Jordan is ninth.

First off, I'm a Cavs fan..

second off, all the speculation that he will leave means absolutely nothing..
it's just speculation.. we'll have to wait and see.. LeBron doesn't even know right now if he's leaving or not..

lastly, him saying that "he never said he wanted leave Cleveland" and all the other stuff in this post means nothing.. he didn't say that he was NOT leaving.. he simply said he never SAID he was leaving.. he didn't say he'll stay if he's offered the max deal..
even if he did.. people have lied before.. Cleveland fans should know this as much as anyone (Modell and Boozer to name a couple).. we'll just have to wait and see..

Why get upset over stuff you can't control? Why act out and give these people what they want?
If you don't like the "he's leaving" stories why do you make them even bigger by getting upset and keeping them going?

I hope the guy stays too.. but its his decision and it's OBVIOUS he isn't making it now.. theres still too much to be determined and I'm betting the larger side of it is not about the Cavs getting to championship level.. i think he knows thats being worked on.. ownership and team brass are clearly working on that

LeBron's proven to be a very smart business man.. he's friend with guys like Warren Buffet.. he's got several advisors to help him make financial and career decisions..
he's going to make his decision based on whats best for him when the time comes.. not before it..

RELAX..

all this over reaction is not becoming..

Dan Gilbert is definately proving that desperation is not an attractive quality..

if Gilbert has issues he should get the guy signed..

oh yeah, thats right..
he can't.. because LeBron's not making a decision right now..

so RELAX Gilbert.. you're not inspiring confidence either..

when LeBron gets all the information he needs he'll make his decision..

you know we'll have the money to sign him and you know we'll have money to work on making the team better.. you know we have done or are doing all that we can do..

with finances, family and championships being the biggest reasons a player signs with a team we have to be considered the favorite for LeBron to sign with

but he can still disregard all of this and believe he has something better elsewhere.. what can we do about it? Nothing. I'll feel good either way because I'll know we've done all we can.

there's no need to post this stuff

arguing back "he's not leaving"
is at least as bad or WORSE than arguing "he's leaving"

it takes two to tango...

this is my first, last and only reaction to these rumors..
they aren't going away.. but I'm not promoting them by responding

Seriously, did you see anywhere in this thread where someone argued that LeBron might not leave? To me, this thread is more about the fact that it went without being in the wiretap or on any of the shows than it is about whether LeBron might leave or not. There are regularly 10 page threads about LeBron leaving because he likes NY but there was virtually no comment about this at all. Heck, NY is Z's favorite city as well which is why he has a house there, but he also plays for the Cavs.

Lebron would make news if he were to state that he will resign with Cleveland.

Talking about how he likes Cleveland, loves Cleveland, loves the Cavs, loves playing close to Akron etc, does not address the real question: Will he sign a new contract with the Cavs?

Of course it is not in his best interest to show his cards early. He should play things close to the vest. That is his best interest, in many respects.

That is not a comment on Cleveland or whether he will consider other options. Just life in the NBA. No different than what LA went through with Kobe.

I've never understood the scandal of not being a fan of the local teams. I proudly grew up a Clevelander but I've never been a big Browns fan. The Lions were my team, still are. I was a big Quebec Nordiques fan and I've never set foot in Quebec.

I do find it real interesting that this got zero run anywhere but in Cleveland...

I've always found RealGM to be very pro-Cavalier... At least it's been that way since I've joined... As for the wiretap it's a joke, I've been saying it for years now...

this should be as much of a non story as him wearing a yankee cap, i highly doubt he knows where he'll end up in a couple years.
