Has the board considered Kirilenko?

Hey,
Used to visit the board a lot, but I'm a Raps fan first and that's where I've spent the majority of my time. Just wondering what the board's thoughts are concerning trading for a guy like Kirilenko.
I think that Wally, a 1st and a 2nd if they asked real nice would be enough for the Jazz, who have to re-sign "He Who Shall Not Be Named" and a bunch of other guys this offseason. Andrei's not even supposed to start this season.
I think that this lineup wins it all. Having a viable backup to Lebron in AK47 would be pretty awesome, too.
Mo/Boobie
Pavs/West/Kinsey
Bron/AK47/Kinsey
AK/Ben/Hickson
Z/Andy
Thoughts?

I think we've considered him but there are a number of problems associated with him. He's not really a low post player. And, with Z as more of an outside player these days the Cavs really could use a back to the basket PF. Kirilenko is grossly overpaid and I think he costs too much. He's a good player but I'd be very reluctant to give up a first and second for him.

I think any trade for Kirilenko, we'd get picks back, not give them out, due to the price and length of his contract.

I have always like AK47, but that extra year of his contract is a big draw back considering he has not played up to his contract and the CAVs 2010 free agent ambitions. If nothing else pans out around the trading deadline, I could see the CAVs inquiring about his availability from the Jazz. I agree that the CAVs wouldn't be the one giving up picks for him though.
Andrei Kirilenko
Physicals:
H: 6' 9"
W: 210 lbs
Bday: 02/18/1981
(27 Years Old)
Positions:
Current: F
NBA: SF/PF
Possible: F
Agent:
Marc Fleisher
Current Salary:
$15,106,000
Overview: A versatile forward who is trying to regain the form that made him one of the game’s most unique young players. Possesses good size for either forward spot, but it is his huge wingspan that allows him to effectively player both. Doesn’t carry a lot of weight, but is wiry-strong. Shows great footspeed and leaping ability for a player his size. Very fluid. Brings a lot to the table on the offensive end, but is more of a complementary player than a feature player offensively. Ones of the game’s most productive defensive players.
Offense: Gets about one-third of his touches as a spot up shooter with other significant portions of his shots coming off of cuts, fast breaks, offensive rebounds, and screens. Pretty versatile scorer. Extremely efficient as well at his position. Has a decent jump shot with decent touch, but has his ups and downs in terms of consistency.
Defense: One of the best defensive players in the NBA. Able to guard essentially every position depending on the matchup. Has the lateral quickness of a much smaller player and the wingspan of a much taller one. Not the greatest option in the post due to his length of physical strength, but makes up for it with unreal timing, quickness, and leaping ability.

I wouldn't mind AK-47. He can play PF and is one of the best help defenders in the league.
A front line of LBJ/AK47/Z/Varejao/Ben Wallace would be pretty tough to score against. Kirilenko is a threat from the perimeter and can create his own shot off the dribble as well.
I'd do it for Wally + filler + 2nd rounder

Interesting that you consider him a perimeter 4. Though he has range, he's always been at his best getting to the rim or sealing his man off of cuts. I think he'd be an awesome complement to Z since he can actually catch a pass and has a brain, unlike Drew.

To be honest, I wouldn't be against having Gooden back.

I'll pass. He's a marginal addition at best. Better to get a SG or a real big man.

Some are being a bit too negative on Kirilenko, he was an all star at PF, he was moved to SF when Boozer arrived. Get him cheap enough and he'd be an upgrade - he certainly should be one of the options for moving Wally - decide if PF or SG would upgrade us more.

I agree with lj4mvp.
Kirilenko is actually a PF. Yes he doesn't have a great post-game but neither does Ben. This trade would definitely make us better. His versatility would help LeBron greatly. I can already see them alley-ooping all around! Mo-LeBron-Kirilenko would be a killer on transition game and LeBron-Kirilenko-Varejao(Ben) frontline would be phenomenal defensively.
Problem is I don't see Utah accepting this.

^Utah might take a deal for an expiring because they will have huge dollars tied up into Deron, Boozer, and probably Milsap as well (he will generate alot of FA interest) They already have guys capable of playing SF in Korver/Brewer/CJ Miles and are developing another SG/SF in Morris Almond. They are already bringing AK-47 off the bench because of that.
He was bitching last year and will probably be even unhappier this year having to come off the bench, I think he is probably one of the more realistic targets and could fit in well here.

If we can get someone like Kirilenko or Odom for just expiring than I'd do it. But if we have to throw in Andy or West or draft picks I'd pass.
