ESPN Page 2 Predictions for the Cavs

Post#1 » by TheOUTLAW » Mon Nov 10, 2008 9:47 pm

I don't think I'd seen this before, but it's so upbeat about the Cavs that I just had to put it here eventhough it's from October.

EAST PLAYOFF TEAMS
1. Boston, 63-19
2. Cleveland, 58-24
3. Orlando, 48-34
4. Detroit, 54-28
5. Miami, 44-38
6. Philly, 43-39
7. Toronto, 41-41
8. Chicago, 41-41

WEST PLAYOFF TEAMS
1. Lakers, 66-16
2. New Orleans, 62-20
3. Utah, 53-29
4. Houston, 52-30
5. San Antonio, 48-34
6. Dallas, 47-35
7. Portland, 45-37
8. Phoenix, 43-39

LOTTERY TEAMS
14. Denver, 42-40
13. Atlanta, 37-45
12. Sacramento, 37-45
11. Indiana 36-46
10. Golden State, 35-47
9. Washington, 35-47
8. Clippers, 33-49
7. Milwaukee, 29-53
6. Minnesota, 28-54
5. New Jersey, 25-57
4. New York, 25-57
3. Seattle SloppySeconds, 23-59
2. Charlotte, 21-61
1. Memphis, 16-66

Geez, not only do they have the Cavs with the 3rd best record in the NBA but they have LeBron winning the MVP and the finals MVP. Yes, you read that correctly, they are actually picking the Cavs to win it all. :o

Yeah, boy!!!

this is clearly the best team the cavs put around lebron. i think its realistic to put the cavs in the finals if they went there 2 years ago with a crap team.

54-28 would be a reasonable record for us.

58 wins is a bit astronomical. I would even be happy if we were to win somewhere around the mid 50s and get the 2nd seed in the East. As for the MVP and Finals MVP prediction, that is a bit far fetched.. I don't even know how to comment on that crazy prediction.

The roster we have now is not the roster we will have at the end of the year guys, Meaning, More wins are coming to CLE for the rematch between Boston and the Cavs in the Eastern Finals. LA and the Hornets are a lock out west.

That is w/o major injury.

Hmm I preferred playing the underdog role. 58 wins though seems a bit high given the improvement in the East, even the bottom feeder teams have enough talent to beat you any given night

Love it but I think Atl gets the 8th seed instead of Chicago.(And beats Boston)
And Denver is swapped with San Antonio who will not make the playoffs(yes I said it). Tim will lose at the least 75% of his games til Tony comes back and will play .500 ball til Ginobli comes back. They make a push for that last spot but are cut short by Phoenix(they get their revenge without having to play them).

As far as the playoffs Cleveland destroys New Orleans because Lebron avgs a triple double and wins Finals MVP after getting dissed by the league again because he lost the season MVP to Chris Paul.

I guess the 4th best record was a bit of a understatement

Maybe I am a bit of a pessimist. I wonder what the general board said about this though.
