Simple Idea to ensure LeBron stays with us in 2010

Post#1 » by Niko23 » Sun Nov 23, 2008 5:31 pm

By now, I am sure we are all sick to our stomachs about reading how LeBron is leaving us because NY made two trades. I actually just got done reading ESPN and thats all they are talking about. So to put this whole thing to an end, I have an idea for Dan Gilbert that is 100% guaranteed to keep LB here. Its simply this:

Name the arena after him. Thats right. The beginning of LB's "last season", role out as HUGE marketing plan by naming the arena after him. I have come up with the following names:

LBJ Arena
King James Coliseum
The LeBron Center

Honestly, how could he walk away from that? Especially if we are continuing to win?

No one player is bigger than the team, i would never name a player after the arena unless he retired a Cav... then you might think about it.

Please name a former Cav who has EVER come close to the dominance and global presence than that of LeBron James.

I don't know how you guys can deal with everybody saying LBJ's going to leave.

Hats off to Cavs fans.

I don't get why the media is gizzing about LeBron leaving. He said less than two weeks he isn't going no where, but yet they still talk about it.

What are you talking about?

I simply would not name an arena after a player that is still playign for the team. We might as well call the team "The Lebrons" like everyone else calls them. My point was maybe if he retired a Cav you might think about something like that later one. But you are making it seem like he is our god, we haven't even won a title. I want Bron to be here as much as the next guy, i would be devistated if he left. But i think thats a dumb idea, just my opinion.

Is kidnapping his family on the list? I think that might be our only hope.

Well Im just trying to get creative here. The guy continually makes vague comments about this future, ie "Well see what happens" and "I need to do whats best for my family". Not enticing endorsements if you ask me. Anyone with a simple business background would know......if LB leaves....Gilbert can say goodbye to about 60% of the franchise value. Moreover, who the hell would want to play here if he leaves anyway? Hey maybe we can sign Larry Hughes again!!

Maybe offering to play 2 or 3 regular season games at the JAR in Akron? LeBron LOVES the city of Akron (hometown) and that would be a good gesture to him.

Two years ago almost nobody had heard of Barack Obama...I'll enjoy LBJ while he's here for 2008 and 2009 and worry about 2010 later.

Lebron loves to stir things up, but he has never said i am going to sign with another team in 2010 nor that he will resign here. We have him for 2 more season atleast maybe more who knows. But we are in a good position to compete for a championship now and thats what we should be worried about. Yea we are gonna have fans from other teams posting every knew garbage article that comes out about 2010. But thats because their team probably sucks and they have nothing better to do. So like someone else said, enjoy 2008/2009 and we will see what happens when 2010 gets here.

LOL, No! Michael Jordan won 6 championships for the Bulls and even they didn't name their arena after him. LeBron is great and he saved the Cavaliers organization but no one is bigger than the city. It's too much. If you want to build something for him build a statue.

edit:sure statue, dunno where that r that came from

Why would LeBron go to the "sorry" Raptors? Jermaine O'neal is one of the biggest scrubs in the league, and Calderon and Bosh are their only key players. Phoenix gets older every week, I mean Nash is pushing 40 and O'neal lives in a retirement home. Amar'e Stoudemire is not going to stay in Phoenix. He will bolt when he's a free agent.
