Tough Question: Cavs Best SG Last 20 Years

Post#1 » by Baseline Runner » Sat Dec 13, 2008 3:12 am

The shooting guard position is not one that the Cavs have been blessed with. We've attempted to remedy the situation with draft picks (Shannon Brown, Trajan Langdon, Dajuan Wagner, Luke Jackson), trades (Darius Miles, Jiri Welsch), and free agency (Larry Hughes), but none of them worked out. At times we even had Ira Newble starting for us. Whose been the best since we traded Ron Harper?

before I opened this link I thought Ron Harper before his knee injury without a doubt. Is that more than twenty Years ago?

Cavs have the worst luck when it comes to shotting guards but i guess Lebron makes up for every postion

Ricky Davis.

No other listed player was capable of the triple-double on any given night.

Gotta looka t the whole package kids. How long they played what they contributeds to the team what kind of effort did they give, were they oft injured. Only one of theose players guarded one of the best players ever. But Harper is the best that was omitted on this list, otherwise Ehlo.

Hands down, Larry Hughes. We should look into retiring his jersey.

In another 30 years, there will be a shortstop for the Cleveland Indians named Derek Anderson.

Ehlo by far... He could shoot, drive, handle the ball, defend and he hustled every night...

Delonte is a bit undersized.Love his heart and all, but he's not a starting 2guard in the NBA..Although it fits here due to our roster structure..
DA was decent but his college injury took away his game.
Ricky was never a team player. He's irrelevant on so many levels.
Hughes is/was a puss.
Person could shoot.

Phills could be right there with Craig, but he played on some bad teams.. However, I believe he proved his worth during the late 90's with the Hornets.

So my vote goes to Craig.. He would be a perfect SG with this team too...

Delonte gets knocked for being undersize but he is the best defensively out of all those. In fact he's one of the better defensive two guards in the NBA right now. Lots of big two guards like Carter and JJ have off nights when playing against West. Some of that is due to Cavs great help defense but West is very good individually too.

I voted for Ricky Davis but could have easily voted for Delonte, Ehlo or Phills.
