Not your typical 2010 question.
First off let me appologize because I don't visit this forum often. So if this question has been asked before or beaten to death like it possibly has I am sorry.
Here it goes. We all keep on hearing about the big 2010 offseason and Lebron jumping ship etc... I'm still about 50-50 on this. I think there is a chance that Lebron jumps but I doubt it. If he does jump ship I think his friendship with Jay-Z may lead him to the Nets and a new Stadium and team in Brooklyn. I still question that also.
So how do you Cavs fans feel? Do you guy's brush this off and say Lebron's not leaving the Cavs or is there some actuall concern that he may leave and join another club? Is there actual fear that he may go to NY or Brooklyn? Is Chicago a threat? Is Miami and D-Wade a threat? Will a Euro club offer a 50 million dollar contract? Do you guys have any fear that he may leave team? Or is it all just jibber jabber created my crazy fans and attention wanting media?

Actually, that's a very typical 2010 question. That being said, I don't think LeBron jumps ship, but he might. Nothing really to worry about since we have no control over it. I don't think any of the locals that you've mentioned are a serious threat.

Im sorry. I thought that most people would probably come in and say something like Lebron to jump ship or Lebron to NY or something. Sorry for rehashing a thread in your guys forum if it's been beaten to death already.

I rather focus on this year's playoffs and talk about this 2010 season later.. The postseason begins in about a week.. But to answer your question, I still feel confident that LeBron will stay in Cleveland.

Thanks for answering the question though.
And as for the comment about this years playoffs good luck. As a Bulls fan the Cavs are the team I don't want to see in the playoffs for a big reason. Im sure Cavs fans remember Jordan over Ehlo. If the Bulls face the Cavs this season I can see James over Hinrich.
Good luck Cavs. You fans deserve this run you guys are on. As a fan of the NBA I can appreciate what you guy's are doing. Good job.

Same here. Bit to answer that ?, no I don't think LeBron jumps ship. He says he wants to win championships, and here he has a better shot than almost anywhere else.

95% chance he re-signs.
5% chance he goes to Portland or Miami.

Re: Not your typical 2010 question.
You guys need to win a championship this year to put this rumour to bed, point blank.
I think Lebron is still a bit shaky somewhere in his mind (NYC propping) and a NBA Championship in Ohio would be the final nail in the coffin for all the Lebron leaving Cleveland talk.
Good luck, going to be a battle with Boston.

Re: Not your typical 2010 question.
Longtime lurker, first-time poster, big-time Cavs fan.
I don't see any logical reason why LBJ would leave. I can't remember the last hoopster who took his game to another level simply because he signed with a team in New York or New Jersey. Why would LBJ want to waste a good number of his prime years while waiting around for his new crappy squad to become a contender? He'd be right back to square one of his career if he signed with the Knicks...and I don't think he'd be all that excited if the best he could look forward to would be fighting for the eighth seed in the East as the season winds down.
He's said over and over again he wants to win multiple championships. He's very close to winning one this year, and if the Cavs can re-sign him as well as another one of the mega-free agents in 2010, Cleveland would have a legit shot at dominating the league for years. Give LBJ a side kick like Bosh, Wade or even Joe Johnson...and you might see the Cavs win three straight titles the way the Lakers did earlier this decade with Kobe and Shaq.
Not to mention, he's from the area and is building a massive mansion in NE Ohio. What...is he going to do that so he can go play for another team, then come back and spend his summers in a town where everyone would hate him for bolting?
I think it's far more likely he'll stay than leave.

Re: Not your typical 2010 question.
I honestly dont know of many people who realistically think he is leaving. Maybe before this season there were some who thought he was gone for sure, but after what this team has shown this year I see very few people who still think he is leaving. Heck, even the NY media proclaiming LeBron to be theirs has died down considerably. I think they are finally realizing now what most of us realized quite a while ago... There is no logical reason for LeBron to go to NY, and if there is I havent seen a strong argument for it yet.

I think when People mention NY they immediately think the Knicks. If anything I think the Nets have the better chance of landing him. The team is moving to Brooklyn in a few years and the owners are determined to open up a new facility for the Nets either in 2010 or 2011 season. Bron could make a legacy in NY with the Nets. I don't think the Knicks are the obvious choice when talking about NY. T
Anyway it's playoff time and this is a subject that we can re live in the off season. I hope for the best for the Cavs. You guys deserve it. I hope you do win the championship this season also. The Cavs will be the team I will be following this off season. Congratulations to home court advantage would could be crucial in the Confrence finals and the Finals. Cavs fans, enjoy the moment. Thank you for allowing me to post in your forum and create a good conversation with you, Cavalier fans. I appreciate the opportunity to talk to you and look forward to talking to you again in the off season. Good luck in the playoffs. I'm rooting for you.

The whole 2010 things seems kind of contrived now...I was somewhat annoyed by it at first because it seem to have legs, no matter how feeble they seemed. Now that the Cavs are winning and there really seems to be now downside to anything really concerning the franchise. If the Cavs win it all, it make Lebron leaving just seem like every other teams wet dream.

My lawyer had dinner with Z a few weeks ago and he asked Z what he thought about Lebron leaving. Z told him it's all for marketing and he guaranteed Lebron would not leave because he absolutely loves it here. Which is exactly what I thought.

Re: Not your typical 2010 question.
STOP...Please just stop....Lebron is not going anywhere....
1. Cleveland got full-Bird Rights....No matter how much other teams may put up for bid for LBJ, Cleveland can match and more....
2. The City of Cleveland is just 30 - 40 miles away from his friends, family and home stomping grounds
3.What other team is more geared up for multible championship then the Cavs? Mo William, D.West, Hickson and Jackson are signed up for at least the next 3 yrs or more. Big Z is want to be back next year and have aready said that he would sign a extention and would would like to retire a Cavalier.
4. The Owner is a Multi-Billionire, he have already spent over the salary cap and have no issue on stay over the cap to keep Lebron, even with the bad economic times we going thru now...
5. Lebron main purpose in the nba is to win Multible Championships....he is 24 yrs old, he has about 6 more years of MVP performance in his body....why in the world would he want to go to the knicks, bulls, heat or detroit... to rebuild or take chance on chemistry to work, when he has everything he could of dream for in the Cavs???
All this crazy talk of Lebron not to staying in Cleveland need to stay off ofs our boards...

IF the Cavs win the title this year...................he goes to NY in 2010.
This is what I like about LBJ he'll win a title for CLE because its experience years of sports heartbreak and one title is better than none. LBJ seeing he's accomplished a goal will seek a new objective to see if he can do it again from scratch in NY.
or
If the Cavs wise up and put another 20ppg scorer with him then he resigns. Next year is going to be critical for CLE. if they want a dynasty their gonna have to have more than LBJ and Mo

I don't care what the media says, I don't seen Lebron going anywheres...it just wouldn't make and sense what so ever....
