Lebron Leaving Cleveland with Title?

Bulls fan here, was wondering what you guys thought about this article. I feel that if the Cavs win a Title this year and Lebron leaves, he's the bigges hypocrite ever in the NBA. I mean as a bulls fan, even if we had a chance to sign him, i would rather him stay in cleveland because i feel every team in the NBA deserves a player to be known for. For Cleveland thats Lebron JAmes. And wasn't Lebron the same person who said he would go to where he would have the best chance to win a title, so if he won in cleveland wouldn't he be going completely against that? Whether or not the rumors are true i dont know, but if its true that his mind is made up, this guy is completely full of it.

If the Cavs win, it's only right that he re-sign this summer and end the 2010 speculation.

If the Cavs win and he decides to sign elsewhere, then he's a disgrace to the sport. It would infer that money and status is more important to him than actually winning a title.

just more wishful thinking.

now that the cavs had a good season he's trying to stretch the limits of illogical thought to rationalize his teams wildest fantasy.

its still just a fantasy..

Well of course...

Every player has aspirations of playing in meaningful games in April, big games in May and June and ultimately win a championship with the mindset to just leave and go back to the bottom of the barrel.. That's the dream...

But to be honest, I do kinda feel sorry for Knicks fans though in this regard... They keep getting the carrot dangled in front of their face by their own sports writers, but it has let down written all over it..LeBron is having the time of his life right now... He loves playing for the Cavs, he loves his coaching staff (a staff that implements a winning championship caliber style of play as opposed to D'Antoni's all offense style) and he loves his players...And best of all, he doesn't have to deal with that New York media... Cause as they keep clearly showing, they're crazy...

LeBron going anywhere is a long shot... But, what I do like about the speculation is it keeps the Cavs front office moving.. The fire doesn't burn out with this type of speculation, which could ultimately help the Cavs keep moving forward and improving the team... So it does have it's positives as well..

It's just horsecrap. I heard a stat on the radio here in Cleveland last week: Of the top ten highest paid players from ENDORSEMENTS, exactly zero of them play in New York. LeBron could make a billion playing in Alaska, I think Cleveland is fine enough.

BTW, I watched LeBron's side interview after he was selected in the 2003 draft on Youtube. You can hear the New Yorkers chanting 'overrated'. Anyone think there's a chance he forgets THAT?

"I've always felt that LeBron would stay but when you talk to people close to him - business people - the majority of them believe he'll be a Knick," writes Isola.

Majority? Exactly how many people are we talking about here? And how does Isola, a beat writer in NY, have such close access to SO MANY people within LBJ's business circle? After all, you can't claim to know how the majority of a group feels unless you know the thoughts of 51% or more of the individuals within the group. And not to mention, if LBJ was so hell-bent on leaving town, then why did he re-sign with Cleveland in 2006? So many writers tend to overlook that (conveniently).

Let's assume for one second this guy actually has a connection or two within LBJ's group (even though I'm 99% sure he doesn't). What rational "business person" would advise LBJ to walk away from the $40 million extra (give or take) he would get if he re-signed with the Cavs as opposed to going to another team? Besides, can anyone cite just one example of an endorser who has said "there's no way in hell we'll have LBJ endorse our product if he stays in Cleveland, but if he goes to the Knicks, you can consider us interested..."? Give me a freaking break. Companies are already tripping over themselves to get LBJ as a spokesman for their product.

So many of these writers are going to look incredibly stupid (and hopefully lose a lot of credibility) when LBJ re-signs with Cleveland.

I still feel there is about a 30% chance he leaves and if he leaves after taking the Cavs so close, than i agree, he's a disgrace to sports period. I mean if Jordan left my bulls i would say the same but Jordan stayed honest with the bulls and wanted to build a championship here. But i mean New York media does this all the time, not sure if some of you remember but when Jordan was a Free Agent the season before he signed that 1yr 30 million deal, there were reports out of New York that he might go to the knicks, they even had a front page of him wearing a knicks uniform.

I honestly hate NY sports just because they are overrated and overcovered by all the media. I mean just look at how much the Knicks, Mets and Yankess have sucked so far this year but they still give them coverage and call them favorites as far as baseball goes. To me if Lebron doesn't go to NY, NY is really screwed and i dont buy Walsh saying he has a backup plan because I feel Wade is going to stay in Miami and if he considers leaving he'll probably go to Chicago, Bosh and Amare probably won't go to NY especially not with that roster or whatever roster they would have. The only way the knicks becomes attractive to a FA is if they get lucky and draft a top prospect in the next couple of years which why i feel the draft will be rigged either this year or next so that NY gets one of the first two picks. Bank on it.

I think it would be more of a risk for him to go to NY than just stay in Cleveland. He is putting Cleveland on the map like Jordan did for Chicago in the eyes of basketball. We are not in that day and age anymore. Jordan opened the market internationally. But now Lebron has the internet on his side because now you can technically be in Alaska and have your face everywhere. He can be on a jet and be in NY in hours and have many business ventures. If he goes to NY and they suffer or dont play as well he would do more harm to his image than if he stayed in Cleveland.

If Lebron wanted to do something he should help David Stern expand into Europe and plus help with a collective bargaining agreement that allows players to get paid Euros in european teams. And be a part owner and player of the 1st expansion team in Europe after his next contract. I think his image would explode in Europe and be able to thrive in the European economy as the American economy rebounds while stile playing in the NBA and being able to play in the states at least half the season. His avg annual should jump from below 50mil to 75 to 100 mil.

A few beers can do that to anyone. I was pissed in general at the topic, like many of us I am beyond tired of this type of garbage. Another hack writer in NY trying to stay employed at a failing newspaper that has regularly printed made up stories on its front page saying Lebron is going to the knicks. And we end up with a topic about it in the middle of a playoff run that is the most promising ever for this team and fanbase. Take this subject and get it the **** off of our boards.
