Blah. Sometimes being heavily favored isn't a good thing, it provides extra motivation to your opposition. Hopefully all of these folks jumping on the LA bandwagon will be eating some major crow.

I'm not quite sure, but our good "buddy" Flash3 sent me the following message:

"You've been suspended 3 days for disrupting the General NBA Forum AND an indefinite ban from the General NBA Forum."

If I had to guess Flash3 suspended me because he didn't want to hear what I had to say when the Heat got destroyed by the Hawks.

McGrady has failed miserably during his career.

Who knows, McGrady might end up being right. That being said, the most important part is that it's not his team he's talking about. Houston isn't even in the conversation.

McLady is correct that the Cavs and Lakers will be in the finals but he is incorrect that he said they'll beat us. ;)

Yeah, because T-Mac is the first person who pops into my mind when I think of "people who know what it takes to advance deep into the playoffs."

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit, but looking at the way the Lakers played in Utah tonight...I'm not quite as worried about potentially meeting them as I was before. They have a terrible habit of letting teams crawl back into games after they've built a big lead, and I think that's what's ultimately going to be their downfall. Phil Jackson has bitched about a lack of killer instinct all season long, and you can only get away with letting teams off the hook so many times...especially as you get deeper into the playoffs. Plus...someone correct me if I'm wrong, but historically, it's been pretty difficult for the road team of the NBA Finals to sweep those middle three games of the 2-3-2 at home. if the Cavs hold serve in the first two and just win one of the next three on the road, they'd be in golden shape to clinch at home...

But I'm getting way ahead of myself. For now, I'll just enjoy the Cavs wins and Lakers/Celtics losses...

I thought he already was when compared to his hype, besides he is just a hater and jealous of the younger guys in the NBA. He took shots at Wade when the Heat won and he went nuts and got finals MVP, then he sees LB get there and now LB is prob on his way back this time with a legit shot to win and he has done nothing, is moving into his 30s and knows his time and chances are gone.

At this point his best bet is to be like gary payton and chase titles as a 15-20 min guy off the bench.

What does T-Mac know about being good and winning? Heck, his team is better without him.

what do any of us as armchair gm's and posters know about being good and winning? 99% of the posters on rgm couldn't hack it in d1 ncaa ball, let alone the pros.

i get what you're saying, but why are his skills (or lack thereof) at all relevant to his opinion on the cavs?

because he is an NBA baller he gets instant credibility in the media. I guess if someone isnt born with D1 talent they should just shut up and not be entitled to any type of opinion as you stated. But from my viewpoint, if you have the god given talent, work to maximize your talent and are willing to sacrifice your ego to blend into a team concept, thats what makes a champion.
In that regard, McGrady has no idea what he is talking about. I am sure his teammates are thrilled with his opinions. In fact, they may even get out of the first round of the playoffs without him this season. that would be a first wouldnt it?

I think T-mac's opinion stems from the fact that the Rockets have man-handled the Cavs on two occasions, while the Lakers have steam rolled the Rockets.
