Re: Orlando Fans
The Magic have no reason to gloat right now. They've played 144 obscenely and uncharacteristically bad minutes of playoff basketball. I'd say that our offense has been exposed, but I'd probably attribute it more to a lack of confidence has has unexplicably taken hold in the locker room of a 59 win team.
The Sixers are 28th in the league at defending the 3PT shot, and the magic are #1 at hitting it. One would think, by the law of averages, that the basket would open eventually. And yet we're three full games into the series, and the Magic have not hit their customary shots. It's getting to the point where our "star SFs" are regularly hesitating and passing on open looks, and relying on Dwight to do absolutely everything.
I do still think the Magic will win the series, because I'd like to believe Philly can only hit so many shots with two hands in their face. If we win, it will be with our defense, not our offense. The Magic's production, and more importantly its effort, has not inspired confidence in the least so far though. Unless we win the next three games by 20+ points (and given the shape of this series so far, how likely is that?), we'll likely have the same reservations heading into round two.
So kick us while we're down. We can't stop you.
