Unless ORL retains Hedo as well I am not worried.

Carter is a great player, but he is not better than Hedo + Lee, which is essentially what they would be giving up. Both those guys murdered us.

Also them losing Alston doesn't hurt either, as he has been a Cav killer for ages

Dumb. If they do this that means they are letting Hedo go. Carter does not bring much more to the table then Hedo does and Carter will demand the spot light unlike Hedo. Good news is we have a chance at going after Hedo!

Also if Alston, Lee and Hedo are all gone then three of thier ECF starters are gone which is good for us. I realize Nelson is back but can he be the leader alston was, although no doubt the talent is better. Carter as I said not that much better the Hedo and his play/personality does not mesh as well at Hedo and the JJ Reddick is the favorite to replace Lee so I think we are ok there.

Alston
Lee
Hedo
Lewis
Howard

is a scarier lineup then

Nelson (coming back from a long injury)
Reddick
Carter
Lewis
Howard

it just doesn't seem to fit right...

and as I am speaking (ok im typing) this deal is done. Lee, Alston and Battier for Carter is official.

Again I think the impact of this move will be on what they do with Hedo.

They are loaded though, no doubt about it.

Getting a wing defender with length is a top priority now to match up

They could start Pietrus with Carter which I think would be more logical but I just dont see enough Basketball for all.

I agree. Distribution would be hard. If they do not resign Hedo though we have to get him no if and's or butt's we need to make it work. Even if it means letting Andy walk. I would prefer to keep him but Hedo would set it up for good

hedo will be back
Jameer/AJ/FA
Vince/Pietrus/Lee
Hedo/Pietrus
Rashard/Ryan Anderson
Dwight/Gortat (or fa pick up)

pretty good line up, it sucks ass to see Clee go though

I would rather trade for McGrady if I was the Nets. I think it would benefit both teams. If you are the Nets, lets say you get two max free agents in 2010, you will still have to face this team that you helped create by sending them Carter. Alston still is going to want to start but for Courtney Lee maybe but I dont think he is enough.

What makes you say Hedo will be back? You guys just added a lot of salary in Carter, and weren't you iffy about getting Hedo back before (with his price tag)?

I think Orlando will sign and trade Turkoglu for a PF.

Add another big with Andy's money offer sheet for Grant Hill or try to trade for Raja Bell { athletic swing man} . Vince who ? Ask Kobe about Bell wait I think Sasha was pretty effective against Vince a few yrs ago. This will play out rather well for Orlando through out the season however the playoffs contain a little more pressure and Vince hasn't handled playoff pressure to well

Just check Nets' 2010 payroll. It's over, LeBron will bolt to Nets.

I agree that this means that Hedo will not be back with the Magic.

IMO, this trade was done to buffer against a fan back lash when Hedo signs elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see what the Magic's future moves are... considering they now don't have much of a bench right now.

I don't know if I like this for Orlando ??

If they don't sign Hedo, it doesn't really make a difference... If they do re-sign him, I dunno how the dynamic works ?? What I do know is that Jameer and VC is a just a poor defensive backcourt... They're gonna get torched off the dribble a lot... Dwight will have to cover for that..

Furthermore, they gave up a great young asset in Lee, who was a pesky defender (much better than Carter on defense) and was a really great role player that could shoot the ball...

They gave up 3 rotational players for VC..

Just don't know...

Eh, I think Anderson can replace Battie.. I do think we have to either resign either Hedo/Gortat to make this as lethal as I think it could be.

well according to david aldridge, rasheed has narrowed down his choices to two - orlando and san antonio. if he does sign with orlando for the MLE, i think we're gonna have the best starting lineup in the league and a dependable bench.

PG - jameer (johnson)
SG - vince (pietrus/redick)
SF - rashard (pietrus / g.hill for vet min?)
PF - rasheed (rashard/ryan anderson)
C - dwight (rasheed/ sign a scrub C)
