Christian Eyenga - Why waste the pick????????????
Gilbert and Ferry didn't want another guaranteed contract.
That's all you can say.

Looking through draft guide now. Sorry, know nothing about him
Christian Eyenga. He's not in the draft guide and wasn't even in the Spanish A League. Uhhhhh, still collecting information.

Re: Christian Eyenga
What he projects to be in 3 years is EXACTLY what we need now. Not like that means much at this point.

Please stop acting like this was a good pick. The Shaq move sent the message that Cleveland wins now. Eyenga may develop into a good player, but he will not help right now. That you have Dejuan Summers sitting there and you picked Eyenga is classic Ferry. Has Ferry really ever had a draft pick other than Lebron James who fell in his lap worth anything. The Pistons and Spurs do a great job of this.

Whoops and there I go giving Ferry more credit than he deserves. At least Isiah Thomas drafted well for the Knicks. What has Ferry done?

Eyenga playing with Ricky Rubio... I think he is #15 in the video. He has good ups and is pretty fast, don't know what else he does.
Would have really liked a more NBA ready guy... sigh.

Sam young would have been perfect. The Cavs need an athletic wing, any kind of athlete for that matter. He could have helped match up better against the magic.

Re: Christian Eyenga
Ferry is so frustrating in the draft. He had an opportunity to move up and to get a few guys and then when he has a few good value options he decides to go with a guy who is not NBA ready. I would have rather traded up to take a chance on BJ Mullens who is not NBA ready, but has huge upside then to draft Eyenga. Preferably, the Cavs would have taken either Blair or Summers to fill their need.
Detroit has had a really good draft thus far. I have heard the criticism about Daye, but he is extremely raw. He has all the tools to be another solid athletic forward for the Pistons. Summers was a steal in the second round for them.
Nick Calathes and Chase Budinger are good value picks at this point in the draft. I'm sure the Cavs will go off the board again with their pick.

Re: Christian Eyenga
and there goes budinger. but back on topic this pick is awful, maybe we can trade him to someone like the blazers who love overseas talent for cash or a 2nd rounder. but i wouldnt keep him, pointless to not get lebron all the help you can for the next year
edit there goes my other 2nd round choice for the cavs *sigh* (calathes)

Re: Christian Eyenga
Danny Green is a better pick then Eyenga. If the Cavs would have landed both Green and Summers I would say it was a good draft. Danny Ferry just has no eye for talent and the Cavs do a terrible job developing talent. Shannon Brown sat on the bench and we never found out that this guy can play. I feel as though JJ Hickson will suffer the same fate. Hopefully, there is some trade being worked out for a guy we don't know about. We missed a real chance to add toughness with a Dejuan Blair or add that athletic shooting wing man with DeJuan Summers.

Re: Christian Eyenga
actually i love this pick, i forgot green wanst drafted, defently better then our first
and Pula i dont blame ferry for shannon brown sitting the bench, more mike browns fault sticking with proven bench warmers (i.e. damon jones, sasha, wally).

Its what Pula does JDawg. 63 posts, and I would say 95% of them are ripping on Ferry.

Re: Christian Eyenga
Ferry must be viewing Eyenga as LeBrons replacement.
That makes ZERO sense when you're supposed to be in win now mode.
too bad we can't replace Ferry and Brown with some real EXPERIENCED leadership.

He won't leave if he has a GOOD chance at winning a title...
Maybe you think picks like Eyenga are getting him closer.... but I'm guessing Ferry is facing a HARD SELL telling LeBron that
and if all he has to do is sign with another team that already has two all stars on it to have a much better shot at winning a ring you can bet your (anything) that he will
LeBron will not let himself wind up playing 15 years without a ring

Re: Christian Eyenga
95% is probably about right. I am no fan of Ferry. However, I won't blindly critique every move he makes. I think the Shaq move makes a lot of sense if you plan on bringing a defensive minded guard/forward who is athletic (Dahntay Jones/Matt Barnes) and another PF (Leon Powe, Glen Davis, Antonio McDyess, Sheed,CV), preferably one who can shoot.
The first draft pick cannot be defended unless Ferry is planning to blow this thing up. If so, then we would expect to hear West and Williams on the move. The first round draft pick of Eyenga goes against our earlier move of obtaining Shaq that sent the message the Cavs are still looking to compete for a NBA title.
