Noted sportswriter Roland Lazenby tweets that LeBron James and Chris Bosh are planning to sign with the same team when the two are free-agents a year from now.

"The inside source says LeBron and Bosh have plans to end up playing together," Lazenby writes. "Will Shaq interrupt those plans? Prolly not."

What I hate most about these stories is I think there is some truth to it. IMO there is a very good chance LeBron goes to New York.

LeBron and Bosh (and Wade for that matter) have all played together. It's called team USA. They might get a chance to play next year but there's at least as big a chance that it be in Cleveland.

LeBron isn't going to play with those scrubs in NY. Bosh will be signed and traded and NY doesn't have the capspace or resources to get him. They can afford one max free agent but can't afford to pay more than LeBron, Wade, Bosh, etc. current teams.

NJ is the team that is actually building a nice core of young talent but can't see LeBron going there unless they move to Brooklyn which looks doubtful.

from the money side, higher taxes in NY, NY can't match cleveland's offer. but most importantly, lebron doesn't need the bright lights of NYC to make him more marketable in terms of endorsements

from the competitive side, NY doesn't seem to offer an advantage at this point either

then there's the hometown factor

unless lebron reeeeeealy wants to live in NY during the season, i don't see the rationale for making the move

I always had a feeling we would get Bosh... Hell, if the Shaq thing doesn't work, we can probably flip Shaq's expiring plus a package at the deadline to Toronto in a deal for Bosh, and just re-sign him and Bron next summer..

The funny thing about all this is the Knicks are complete garbage... The Nets are the team that is setup to get LeBron and be competitive out the gate... The Knicks are years away from being anywhere near championship caliber... Hell, they're not even playoff caliber...

The Knicks are only missing the following to put around LeBron and Bosh:

PG
SG
C
Bench

Not to mention, they hired a coach who doesn't really implement a true winning formula with his style... Knick fans are under the impression they can plug LeBron and Bosh in, and be good to go... Which sounds like a group of fans that haven't been in the playoffs for almost a decade...

That sounded like good news to me. LeBron isn't going anywhere, if they're playing in together it will be in Cleveland. The Knicks can't sign and trade to get them both max money anyway.

All the pieces are coming together....
If we sign Charlie V. to 3 or 4 years at the MLE and let Andy walk (which is looking likely), then pick up Hickson's option and sign Danny Green, then including LeBron's cap hold our payroll in 2010 will be right around $44M.
...that will give us the cap room to cover LeBron's bump and offer a max for Bosh.

Here is the solution guys. a trade that brings Bosh here and allows toronto flexibility in the cap to build through the draft. Of course Mo is needed but for Bosh and a MLE for Dahntey Jones and/or Josh Childress, we would be extremely versatile. Of course we would need to resign Andy in order for a backup for Bosh and Shaq but this would allow Danny Green to mature and delonte to shine as well.

L.A. fan here. Cavs fans should be 50% extremely excited and 50% slightly concerned. LeBron will only play for Cleveland or New York after 2010. That means by the end of the summer of 2010, Chris Bosh will be in a NY jersey or a Cleveland one. So far, Cleveland has the better supporting cast, so you guys shouldn't worry too much.

Oh right. Scratch off New York and replace it with New Jersey/Brooklyn. New York's roster is utter trash compared to the youth New Jersey has been stockpiling. But still, Cleveland is the team to beat.

There's a lot better odds that LBJ is leaving than the Cavs are going to convince another 25 year old making $15 mil a year in any city he wants to move to Cleveland, OH for the winter months. The Cavs had cap room with LBJ before and couldn't get Michael Redd or Joe Johnson, now they are getting Chris Bosh?

However, for all of you who are going to call me an idiot, I have an exciting opportunity to own some ocean front property, right here in Columbus, Ohio......

Wow, all that from a Piston's fan, lmao. Thanks for contributing!

If Bosh's primary concern was the night life and culture of the big city he wouldn'y be leaving Toronto. Its a better big city than NY.
The winter months?, lol. Yeah because its downright tropical in NY and NJ.

Michael Redd, like everyone else ever offered an absolute max deal stayed with his current team. Joe Johnson was more compex but I'm not getting into that here.

Anyway, IF LeBron and Bosh do have an agreement to get together its almost has to be in Cleveland.
