Re: ARTEST !!!!!
"According to several league sources, the Cavaliers have been been in contact with Ron Artest.
LeBron James met with Artest on Tuesday night, according to the report.
The Rockets have had interest in Cavs free agent Anderson Varejao in the past, which opens up some possibilities of a sign-and-trade scenario - though the Cavs have said they want to re-sign Varejao."

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
Kind of came out of nowhere, what would it take for him to come here?
Doubt it for the MLE. Houston can offer the most money.
Doubt the S&T with Varejao. Houston doesn't want anything we have.

As a Rox fan I can say that while the Rox can offer the most money, unless they believe that both T-Mac and Yao will be fully healthy at some point next season they are going to have major reservations about giving Artest a long term deal. He's going to be 30 shortly after the season starts and there's always the reservations about his mental stability

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
All the speculation can kill you at this time of year.
Artest would be great for the Cavs, in that he could slow down a Vince Carter or Paul Pierce.
But man, he has some issues. Would the Cavs want a player who doesn't run the play that's been called? Would the Cavs want a player who refuses to take the meds prescribed by his doctors? The guy is very high maintenance. Who deals with him?
I wonder if his "issues" are behind him. This is the same guy who wanted a couple of months off in early November to concentrate on producing a hip-hop CD a couple of years ago. Artest is scary bizzare in many respects, but his talent is undeniable.

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
Everything is on a one year deal because of LeBron....
I must admit, I kinda like it.. Would I want LBJ locked up long term right now ?? Of course.. However, there is apart of me that loves the aggressive nature that is coming with this in order to improve the team... And I love the fact the Cavs will be able to maintain flexibility in 2010 if LeBron does indeed decide he wants to stick around and win a few titles...

^^Agreed. Artest can be a serious bonehead sometimes. That is the only issue with him. I wish he can just focus on helping his team win ball games.

A little bit out of nowhere I suppose, however I did post him in my dream lineup last week. Im just surprised it has taken this long to reach the media to be honest.

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
Well, I must admit, Maximus (on RealCavsFans.com --the greatest Cavs board on the planet) did make a mention of it last week I believe...

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
Yup I got my info from Max. Who btw broke the Mo trade last year about a week before anyone anywhere reported anything about it.

^Yeah Max was talking about it for awhile. Should have been apparent when he started rocking the Artest avatar what Ferry was planning...
I've adopted the L&H mindset that we should just go all-in and roll the dice this year to get a title.
Get it done Ferry.

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
the thing i like about artest to Cleveland is that lebron and shaq are both tough enough to get artest to focus and stop his antics we need to do something cuz charlie is no longer an option

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
I have wanted Artest for awhile now. I think he could be a great fit for our team, plays very good defense, will get us 15+ points a game and a tough nose mentality. He was a very good leader for Houston last year. I think he has matured a lot and his attitude is not much to worry about. Especially next to Lebron. Plus we could now have Lebron and the less athletic Lebron.
Is Larry Hughes having fun yet?

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
Can you a imagine a S&T for Artest with AV/Cash/Pick. And then Sheed for the MLE?
Mo williams/ Delonte West
Ron Artest/ Boobie Gibson
Lebron James/ Wally?(resigned) or Grant Hill or Barnes(LLE)/Danny Green
Rasheed Wallace/ Joe Smith(Resigned)/JJ Hickson
Shaquille Oneal/ Zydrunas Ilgauskas
This is a pipe dream... I am certain... but it sounds possible.

I prefer Dice over Sheed but that would be one ridiculously sick team at least for one season.

Re: ARTEST !!!!!
And so are the Lakers, Rockets etc...And Artest is freinds with Kobe. Just because Cavs are talking to him doesn't mean they will sign him to an offer sheet. Cle has absolutely no cap space for making it happen nor do the Lakers.
