Trevor Ariza

Chris Broussard believes he will NOT sign with the Lakers and he talked with cavaliers coach Mike Brown and that the Cavaliers have a "great chance of signing Ariza" for the MLE.

that would be awesome if we could get ariza, hes a very good defender and has developed a preety good outside shoot. im wondering if he would come off the bench for us or would LBJ make a permant move to PF

My new dream team #1

Mo/Boobie
West/Green
Ariza/LBJ
LBJ/Andy/Joe Smith/JJ/Darnell
Shaq/Z/Joe Smith

(#2 proboly would never happen outside of NBA2K9 lol)

#2 Ariza plus a sign and trade for Andy to Houston for Artest

Mo/Boobie
Artest/West/Green
Ariza/LBJ
LBJ/Joe Smith/JJ/Darnell
Shaq/Z/Joe Smith

would be awesome, but on the other hand Trevor does have it very good in LA

I wasn't a fan of Ariza earlier, but he has really turned into a smart player. I love how he has the ability to shoot the 3 and put it on the floor. His long arms and athleticism would also be a great asset on defense. He really made big play after big play in the playoffs. I love the fact that he is still growing as a player. If he could be had for the MLE, I would be interested. I actually think that Ariza is a better fit than Charlie V. This then allows the Cavs the versatility to play Mo WIlliams at PG,SG, Ariza at SG & SF, and Lebron at SG, SF, or PF.

I would love it if we could somehow land Ariza and Artest. While Artest is a volitale personality, I would love how improved our defense would be. The Cavs would certainly then not lack toughness and we would be athletic enough against any team.

i agree 100% Pula hes still growing and isnt he only 24 years old as well? if im right he was in the 2003 draft class with LBJ

and yes are defense would be just unfair to the other teams and the atehletic side would be vastly improved as well

Ironically enough, Ariza may fit better than Artest... Plug him in at the 2guard spot, and just allow him to get his within the flow... Unlike Artest, we wouldn't have to change things up that much... With Shaq and LBJ, Ariza will get a ton of looks... PERFECT FIT...

I never thought in a million years we had a legit shot at Ariza...

I like it.

Though I would prefer Artest.

Also we would still have issues at PF if we used our whole MLE on Ariza.

Congrats guys if and when it does happen, his scum bag agent has been hell bent on finding a way to screw the Lakers ever since he couldn't get Bynum the max deal he craved. He took this negotiation straight to the media from day one with Trev, much like he did with Bynum last summer.

lol I'd love love love that lineup, but yeah as you said it's very unlikely.

I'm kinda surprised Ariza would leave a team coming off a championship to go to a team offering the same amount of money. I wouldn't complain if he signed here, but I'd really prefer Artest.

Prediction: We won't be able to sign Artest, Ariza. Charlie V has already gone. It'll be an epic fail if we have to settle for washed up Sheed or uncle McDyess.

We got Shaq for Ben and Sasha, that alone prevents this offseason from being epic fail and McDyess would still be nice addition. You just set your expectations too high...all we have is MLE and BAE, not much to work with.

Just curious, if Ariza's reasoning for leaving LA is get himself a bigger contract, why would he accept the MLE from Cleveland?

It's simple. He saw the Lakers' offer as disrespectful. This actually happened with us and AV, where he for less with another team than what we were offering to start. Luckily, he was a RFA so we were able to match.

I'd prefer Artest to Ariza, as one will probably end up in LA and one here, but if Artest re-signs with Houston, I would be extremely happy with Ariza.

Exactly. That's why we won't be able to land both Ariza and Artest.

*sigh* accoridng to wiretap Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski twittered he belives the rap or blazers will offer ariza a 32-40 million dollar deal, whichever team doesnt sign hedo will be the one to extend the offer to him.

i know its just twitter so im not sure if i want to read to much into it. but still makes me mad.

Ariza would be great but he doesnt fill our need at PF unless JJ/Darnell are ready to play (unlikely) or we bring back Andy and keep him to start or we make LBJ or perment PF

Return to Cleveland Cavaliers
