Trade Cavs should do - To have shot vs LA

The typical Cav fan is saying:

"Watch your language its over... Ron Ron to LA."

CE-Bynum
PF-Gasol
SF-Artest
SG-Kobe
PG-Fisher
6th-Odom

Ouch!!! Their team is staked but you guys can make 2 moves and possibly be better.

Cleveland should defenetly counter and how are they trying? with freaking anthony parker which is just a decent role player. They should go for it all !!!

First try and sign Rasheed at the MLE for 3 years

Then you make the big move. Detroit is always conscious about the salary cap and the tax. After signing Gordon and Villanueva they must be regretting a certain extension they gave out or else they are paying for an 11M 6th man. So considering the tax implications for Detroit i suggest Cleveland offers Ilgauskas expiring contract with a 1st round pick for Rip Hamilton.

Now Imagine this:

CE-Shaq
PF-Wallace
SF-Lebron
SG-Hamilton
PG-Williams
6th-West

I say that could compete and it might be better than LA.
Otherwise just give the trophy to Kobe again or hope that Artest goes Tyson in the playoffs and bites someones ear off.

Sheed is washed up and I doubt he prefers Cleveland over Boston.

Shaq and LeBron want this ring more than Kobe ever did, so I'd not worry about our roster, it'll be enough to beat LA regardless. It's never about talent alone, its about defense and chemistry.

I agree its not talent alone, but you need it and the playoffs proved it.

Cleveland cannot say they have upgraded their team enough to pass Orlando, especially after the Carter move.

Cavs don't have a starting PF, the starting SG is more suited as a good 6th man and Mo Williams is not a 2nd or 3rd option on a Championship team. Plus we dont even know how much Shaq has in the tank.

All of this leads me to believe we need upgrades.

As it currently stands i cant see Cleveland beating LA and Orlando.

I wouldn't say Orlando has upgraded, the Turg was unorthodox and difficult to guard even when he was shooting 39%, whereas the Cavs know how to contain Carter. So the rest comes down to the Shaq v Dwight matchup which will be enough for Cleveland to win as the 6 game series was full of close finishes which would have gone Cleveland's way just by putting a body on Dwight and by upping the offense with some Shaq tip-ins and dump-off dunks. I think Orlando actually lose a bit by losing the unorthodox Turg.

First of all, from my vantage point Orlando has made themselves worse.

Secondly, its not even the end of the offseason yet. Who knows what any team is going to do from now until October. Most people didnt even see the Mo trade coming and yet that was extremely huge in our success this year. Lets just be patient.

I agree, no smart dude or sexy chick would be putting money on anyone yet.

Seriously everyone I am certain but I would like to set up a a deal for Tracey McGrady. WOWOWOWOW. I know. He won't play possibly until the winter, Dec or Jan. But no team will be able to match up with us and if we can trade for him withou giving up MO,Lebron, SHaq, and I would hope Delonte, I think we can do Z, Wally , JJ Hickson, 2011 1st(Valuable if Lebron leaves, someone will be willing to take the risk), maybe Boobie or Green or Eyenga, cash(Possibly buy out Z but they need offense and height) and/or another 1st. They may want AV instead though. But I think that would counter both Orlando and Lakers move. Then we go full force and use MLE on Sheed and show him the way.

Best case scenario:

MO/ Delonte
TMAC/ Green
Lebron/Grant Hill(LLE)
Sheed/ Joe Smith(resigned)/Darnell
Shaq/ Anderson Varajao

And have a rediculous amount of 2010 cap. I mean if the Knicks offered Cutino Mobley and I forget but nobody good, at least this deal is better thann that. And if TMAC is at full health by the post season that is all that matters. If the experiment doesnt work Lebron can still get a max deal for Bosh in 2010. I like this lineup against both teams Orlando and LA. And I think Houston might do it for the fact that Lakers beat them in the post season and then got ROn in the offseason.

Whats with all the "Orlando got better" talk? The lost Turk, Lee, Alston, and about to lose Gortat. All guys who killed us in the playoffs. They added Vince Carter, who we have shut down every time hes played against us. Not to mention, he does not fit in that system. Just mind boggling

When you start making trades to cater to another team you ultimately get burned...

C'mon, lets not go and invite the Orlando homers in to ruin another thread (is it me or have they quickly gotten as bad as Washington fans [and they won]).

I wouldnt make a Tmac trade just to counter other teams but it makes us better even if he is half the player we know. He would still be threat. And he could score when Lebron is on the bench. That starting lineup anyone can score and Shaq is a great passer in the post while Sheed,Lebron,TMac, and Mo can hit the three. Plus 2010 is made better.

I doubt Rasheed would sign in Cleveland, nor we would trade Rip for Big Z. We're looking for a young solid center, not an aging crumbling one who's really had a prolonged career because of LeBron.

However, I agree with others on this thread, the roster is good enough to beat LA as it is.

I'm fine with signing Sheed.. But Ferry should know better than to trade Z for Rip.

I thought I was the only one that thought trading for Rip was a bad idea

I think Rip is one of the more overrated players in the NBA, but that's just my opinion. If we were to trade Z for him, we would be thinner in the front court. That would just leave us with Shaq, Hickson, and DJ. I'm not too confident about the Andy situation and who knows what will do with Smith. It's an awful idea.

If we make that trade we still wouldn't match up with LA. LA has three 6'11+ players (Gasol, Odom, and Bynum). They also have a perimeter defender in Artest. Not to mention Kobe. Then they have Phil on the sidelines....

Has anyone ever thought about Kirilenko? Good rebounder, good defender can hit the 3. Sure he's overpaid and would eliminate out 2010 aspirations, but I think he's exactly what we'd be looking for to pair with Shaq.
