The Orlando Magic are close to reaching a deal with free agent forward Matt Barnes which will put him in blue for the next two years, ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting.

Barnes, 29, averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists last season for Phoenix and is regarded as a versatile player off the bench who can guard forwards of all sizes and make the occasional 3-point shot.

yes the move hurts us and the magic have gotten alot better the offseason IMO.

-barnes is not as good as c lee but he gets the job done for them
-bass really solidifies the front line alot and moves rashard lewis to the 3 if bass starts
-resigning gortat is huge because i think he will see a bigger role this year with orlando this year

I don't know what you are gaining with this Parade celebrating Orlando becoming the Golden State Warriors of the East who will be playing less defense than last season with these new acquisitions.

Yeah I just can't get worried about ORL now without Hedo. The matchups are much better for us against them now, especially if they go small ball.
