Jamario Moon: Solid pick up.

I thought Parker was going to be the guy, but Moon and his intangibles are much more impressive IMO.. I love the fact that he cuts to the basket all the time and I love the way he gets on the glass and also gets deflections...
I know Raps nation was warning us that he was just gonna chuck 3's all game long, but like I thought, there's not a shot in hell he pulls that garbage over here...
Definitely a silver lining to the D-West situation...

Seems like Moon is getting more minutes with West being out. Personally I think Moon should always come into the game when Lebron sits. So we'll have a legit back-up SF. When West comes back that is.
Speaking of West, does anyone know how long he'll be out for this time?

I like Moon also. Seeing him get some extended mins the last couple games, he is a nice little player.
He does a lot of little things out there on the floor. I actually thought he did an OK job on Wade even, which was surprising. Solid pickup by Ferry.
I think Parker's minutes should be cut back and Moons should be increased a bit.

Jamario was instrumental in winning the game tonight. Tons of energy and some great rebounding and defense.
Also, lets try to not get too down on Parker. I have a habit of doing it myself as well, but the guy is still knocking down threes at a great clip and playing some solid D on the opponents best wing every night. Thats really all we ask of him to do, I guess most of us just had our expectations too high.

It's very rare that this is coming from L&H.. But when he says something positive about the Cavs, it is always a good thing. And I agree with him for the most part. Just give Moon more playing time.

i like moon and i would rather have wally over parker. when parker tries to create his own shot from 17 feet i cry tears of blood. at least wally knew to stay behind the 3 point line at all times.

Moon was miscast as a starter last season...just like Parker is being this season with the CAVs.
Parker is better than Wally overall right now and for a lot less money too.

You nailed it. Parker is too old to get 28 minutes a game and do what he's supposed to for that long. He would be exactly what the Cavs need off the bench on the wing in 18-20 mins max, a wing defender that can spread the floor and create a bit of offense when he's playing alongside Gibson. He's no longer got the stamina to play effectively for 30mpg, it's just not his thing. Cavs will be very happy with him once either West comes back and gains the starting spot, allowing Parker to flourish in the role he was actually brought in to do, or Jackson is brought in to start ahead of him.
Moon will continue to give hustle and rebounding, although the shot selection may suck here and there, but with limited minutes, they both will end up being key pieces to the teams success.

That's what I'm saying. Do people honestly forget how awful Wally was? If his shot was not falling, he was hot garbage. At least Parker can defend someone and handle the ball.

Funny that Parker was hailed as a coup for Danny Ferry. I guess when you have a bad off-season you take create a delusion with the moves that were made. Luckily for Ferry there are a lot of teams looking to unload quality players. It's not often you get a second chance to make up for a bad off-season. Go out and get an athletic power forward who can shoot and a tough nosed defensive minded guard.
Unfortunately, no one can make up for the resigning of one of the most overpaid backups in the league in Varejao. No defense, avaerage rebounding, and no offensive game. Yuck.

Who was on the Cavs last year? Big Z and Varejao. Since Big Z is not a rebounder who was likely to get the rebounds? Where is all this tough rebounding in big games? I see a player that inflates their stats against bad teams.

Good to see you guys like the Moon pickup. It was mostly the dumb 17 year old Raptor fans who didn't like Moon. Moon was our best wing player for the season and a half he was with us. The +/- stats backed it up too. He's always a net positive on the floor. He does so many good things for any team he plays for.

He's actually played alot better than Parker IMO and he's also one of the Cavs better defensive wings.

Exactly, Outty.. This is what I was thinking before the season started when Raps fans were claiming he was a chucker and how LeBron was gonna hate his game--blah, blah, blah (which is not true at all..you can tell LB and Moon have great early chemistry)... Look, bottom line is this, if he's playing poorly and hurts the team with poor play, he's simply not going to get time...
However, forget the scoring (and I must say I'm surprised with how well he's shooting the ball--though I don't expect it to maintain at this pace)-- that said, it's the little things like getting deflections, tipping the ball back out for extra possessions, being able to run the floor and finish, being able move without the ball and be a threat for a lob pass etc... Little things that this team never really had--is very refreshing...
And most importantly, and this never goes noticed by many-- he's able to play spot minutes at both forward spots and the 2guard... And he's also able to defend 4 spots on the floor well enough that he doesn't have to get yanked.. Not a great defender, but is more than serviceable...
Also, liked the fact that he turned that ankle and went through enough treatment to be able to play the next game... That showed alot of character as well..
And yes, he's been far better than Parker.. I like Parker, but his overall floor game is poor.. I always thought he was someone you could run off down screens for catch and fire shots, but he appears to be a far better stand still shooter than a catch and shoot guy..
He hasn't been bad, but I just thought he brought a little more to the table to be quite honest..

The Cavs have been in need of someone else that is athletic and can play with LeBron. Moon has fitthe bill very well IMO.

I'm kinda surprised at how Moon is viewed by other posters. There are people saying that he's the worst SF in the league. He's been far better than that for us in my opinion.

I think Moon is an excellent role player, a position he has never really been in. When teams are starting him and expect solid production out of him, then I think people start calling him the worst SF in the league. Speaking of terrible SF's, are people aware that Sasha is still in the league...
