I think its a good trade for you guys. Monta is younger than Steven Jax, and he seems to be a nice replacement for delonte west.
Sideshow bob
lbj
parker
monta
mo
is a pretty awesome lineup for an uptempo game

To be fair. I do not think GS does that deal either

I would do that deal in a heartbeat, GSW would definitely not. If Monta asked to be moved, I hope the Knicks go for him.

Don't need and/or want the guy... Talented player, has some speed, but we're looking for a championship here... Lets get some size on the perimeter or another big man...
Want nothing to do with a 6-3 SG...

You guys are crazy if you wouldnt do Z for Monta. Monta is a stud and young, at the very least you could trade him again for someone sweet.

If the Warriors are that stupid...you'd have to be twice as dumb to say no. You can even bring Z back for a farewell tour next year. I'd however write the Warriors off as just too loco to associate with.
i'd have to learn to like hockey

If the Warriors can only get Z in return, how are the Cavs magically going to get "someone sweet" for the exact same player they gave up an expiring for?
Either way, GS declines the deal in op fairly easily.

i dunno about the rest of thse cavs fans but id take monta in a second. west cant be counted on right now and parker is downright awful. monta would look good on the cavs. also people saying i want no part of a 6'3 sg? delonte is 6'3 at best i would say hes probably closer to 6'1. so take that for what its worth.

First of all, calling Parker down right awful is just stupid.
Ellis is a 29% career 3pt shooter. Parker is 42% for his career. Parker can also play defense, and we all know Nellie does not preach D so Ellis doesnt know what to do.
Also, the Cavs do not make this deal because they do not want to give up ANY size in the frontcourt. We also have a player in Delonte that is comparable to Ellis. Except Delonte is a better defender and is tougher. Plus Ellis makes a crap load of money.

Yeh parker is not downright awful...also, yes delonte is 6'3" and plays the sg position for us now...so why would we want another 6'3" sg when we want size added?
I like Ellis he is young and can score but he doesnt fit with the team and we absolutely cannot give up depth on the frontline...

Bad timing boys. Monta just matched up vs Brandon Roy.....and tore him up. GSW won by a lot.
Before the game,Ellis (again)said he's staying. Pretty much ends the whole idea he's getting dealt...and THIS deal was especially bad.
- and no,Delonte West is not at all comparable.

Nothing changes the fact that Monta is just a plain horrible fit in most team's systems, including ours. He is really in one of the perfect situations for himself and he would be soooo much less effective on pretty much any other NBA team.

I'm not sure there are many more overrated players than Monta Ellis. I'm not saying he's bad, but he's not nearly as impactful a player as some seem to think. Who cares if you score if your actually impact on the game is negligible?
