Shaq trade request that makes a lot of sense

Post#1 » by Alymero » Sun Nov 29, 2009 8:42 pm

Don't know if this has even been considered by any of you, but with the Cavs being a seemingly much better team without Shaq than with Shaq, why wouldn't ya'll call up the Rockets and see if they'd swap Mac for Shaq? The salaries are equal and both contracts come off the books next summer thus making it a no risk trade proposal for both sides. Also, T-Mac, if healthy is the one highly available guy that can help LeBron tremendously with infinite possibilities.

It would be like Jordan and Pippen all over again if T-Mac can regain anything left in his tank for the stretch run this season with LeBron.

Lebron playing the part of Jordan, of course.

I think the original premise is incorrect (that the Cavs are much better without Shaq) but that being said having McGrady would be intriguing provided he could play at some time this season. That being said, the Cavs don't have enough bigs to move Shaq or anyone without a big coming back.

Granted, I haven't followed your roster situation this season, but isn't Zydrunas Illgaukas still serviceable? If not, I'm sure the Cavs could still make due in a league that is quickly proving that centers don't matter.

I don't see T-Mac as the kind of guy who likes to play second fiddle.

No way, Shaq was brought in to stop D Howard and others big to abuse Cavs during the playoff, so u can forget any trade that will Shaq involve as long as the Cavs will not get a big center to stop Dwight H.

back in his toronto days when he was playing second fiddle to vince carter and focused on the other areas of the game aside from scoring, he was the closest thing to pippen....since...pippen

Shaq is fitting in fine with the Cavs, and T-Mac never plays past January, lol.

From a depth perspective Shaq fills in the roster much better too. Trade for T-Mac and West, Moon or Parker don't see the floor. Trade Shaq and Darnell (who?) Jackson does.

T-Mac has major injury concerns and would probably turn into a scrub playing next to Lebron like Larry Hughes did. T-Mac as a spot up shooter? Isn't Anthony Parker better suited for that role?

I swear some of you guys have no idea what you are talking about. LeBron does no relegate players to being spot up shooters. It's just ignorant to try to perpetuate that comment. Sure being able to hit the wide open jump shot can help when you have a player that gets douple and triple teamed and has the kind of vision that LeBron does but that doesn't mean that players are prevented from driving to the basket. Hughes was and is a scrub unless he's in a free wheeling offense. He's incapable of making an outside shot, but he's also only won 50 games and/or played deep into the playoffs while having LeBron as a teammate.

I didn't say he relegates them to spot up shooters, but with Lebron being the great play maker he is, guys who can create for themselves and others aren't really necessary and get underutilized.

The Cavs are not better without Shaq. If they are going to trade an expiring contract it should be Big Z and/or Delonte West (his contract is similar to an expiring).
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

If you actually watch the Cavs play you'd know that the Cavs are so much better when a player like Delonte or Mo are actually being aggressive on offense. For some reason they don't always do it, but it makes the team better. So having another player that'd actually be aggressive on offense would actually be a plus.

Unless the Cavs received a center who was better than Shaw, in trade...even-up... there is absolutely no reason to trade him.
