LeBron Should Be Fined for Taunting/Dancing

Post#1 » by cavsfan_osiris » Sat Dec 5, 2009 5:05 pm

LeBron crossed the line last night plain and simple. I respect Noah for being the only one on the Bulls with enough balls to say something. LeBron was absolutely clueless to what was going on. He acted like Noah was the one who initiated the disrespect when it was LeBron himself. The Bulls should have fouled him hard last night.

The NBA needs to fine LeBron. You can't have players dancing around like that. It's taunting which isn't a good look for the NBA and that's how fights can start. We almost had one last night. I like to see LBJ and the team having fun, but LeBron crossed the line. Imagine if everyone were to be able to prance around like that during every game. Keep it to the pregame and everything's cool.

With respect to LeBron's image what makes it worse are these actions are coming from someone who didn't show sportsmanship after the tough post-season loss to Orlando. I've always been way more of a Cavs fan than a LeBron James fan. The guy is an absolute beast, already the best SF I've ever seen (best by a country mile), but some of his antics are rubbing me the wrong way.

Overall he's shown maturity for a 24 year old, but I hope there is someone in his life he respects that can talk to him about sportsmanship. I grew up watching basketball back in the late 80's early 90's and LeBron had acted like this back then he would have had his head taken off right there on the court. Times change so it has to be handled differently, but it still needs to be handled.

It's refreshing to see an NBA player entertaining. We need more of this taunting, because its a damn sight better than the emotionless Spur-bots.

I agree, but it should never come at the expense of showing up your opponent. Keep it to the pregame and it's entertaining. Over do it during the game like LeBron did last night and it becomes classless. I was not proud to be a Cavs fan watching that game.

I actually hope he is fined so these idiots shut up about it. Maybe Wade should have been fined for showing up the Cavs in a loss when he dunked on Varejao and then jumped on the scorers table just to scream to the audience. I can name millions of things that were worse than what LeBron did last night and only the infantile actually take a great issue with it.

If LeBron would have danced towards the Bulls then maybe you would have an argument, but he didnt, he danced towards the crowd. You could tell from the opening tip when he was pumping the crowd up that he was trying to have some fun last night, and he suceeded. There is a difference between celebration and taunting. Its the reason why I have never had a problem with the Cavs antics either. They are simply celebrating the game and having fun, never doing it to taunt or to any opposing teams.

On top of all that, if we dont win, we dont celebrate. So do something about it.

PS - I would like to thank Noah for giving LeBron even more reason to go off against the Bulls. He has always had fun destroying them, and has always had someone on that team to rile him up, this year's team seemed to lack that player, but not anymore. So Noah now goes on the list with such Bulls greats as Nocioni, Leisure Suit Larry, Drew Badden, etc...

I am not a Bulls fan nor a Cavs fan, but both LBJ and Noah are wrong. LeBron was not taunting the Bulls, well not directly. It seems like he was taunting them because he was winning. What if the Cavs were losing, what would you call it? LeBron being stupid? We all know LeBron is still very childish and thats what he was doing last night. If he was doing it in front of the Bulls bench, then that is taunting.

If the Bulls or Noah have a problem with LeBron dancing, then start playing better on both ends and see how much he dances on the sideline. Better yet, wait until you play him again, give him a good reason not to dance. If the Bulls were now letting themselves get blown out, LeBron would not be dancing.

The league should talk to LeBron about showing respect to the game and be more mature during the game. I do not believe he should be fined. Noah should be fined for being a big baby about it - he should go play for the Celtics.

This is where going to college for example would help a lot of young players. It clearly was a stupid move by Lebron but I believe him when he says he didn't have any ill intent behind his actions. Taunting other players and showing no mercy to your opponent doesn't fit with what we know about Lebron's character.

Well he should have been aware enough of what happened to not call Noah unprofessional for calling him out after he acted like a complete ass towards the other team on national tv.

Don't call out LeBron James on his own court.

Now that's irony, you say not to call him out on his home court and then you post that here.

Of course Noah shouldn't have said that, but LeBron initiated it by dancing too much and showing up his opponent.

What also bothers me is I don't think LeBron is even conscious of what he did wrong, very similar to the poor sportsmanship after losing to Orlando. He never realized what he had done wrong. To this day I don't know if he realizes he was wrong to not shake hands and speak to the media.

This is just a part of the maturation process for him and something the NBA has to control because if every player was to prance around like LeBron did last night you'd have chaos.

The Bulls should get fined for being blown out by 20.

Noah should be mad at himself for not having any post moves instead of having Sour Grapes.

Be mad at Luol and John Salmons ...

If the bulls mad at the dancing they need to be mad at themselves for allowing it.

lol @ being fined for dancing having fun...give me a break

I am a Cavs fan and I am a Lebron fan. I think it was tasteless. I am all about sportsmanship but another part or the sport is rivalry. And in no way am I condoning what he did. I would never teach my players that but in professional sports, this is what makes rivalries what they are. Even though I didnt think it was right what Lebron was doing, in a way I am thankful also because this marks another game to circle on the calender. I would love to see Noah dunk on somebody and start doing his Beavis dance from Florida days to a camera, get T'd up and wait for the next wild antics to continue. At this stage the sport is more business than anything else. At least before we can say it is about school, education, and unity, which is BS or teaching kids values. But at this level, these guys get paid, and as much as Stern hates these things, this is what really gets played on TV and people gravitate to the side stories. If ESPN was all about scores then the show would be a half hour long and thats stretching it. The players are responsible for the entertaiment as much as their skills to play basketball.

bulls fan here. i think both of them did dumb things. noah needs to chill out, and lebron should have never walked towards the bench, just ignored noah. Im a fan of players having fun, its when lebron took noahs bait that I think lebron went wrong.

Lebron is an incredible basketball player, but a poor sport. He doesn't have the right composure, he's immature and emotionally unstable.

Don't compare someone to Michael Jordan that dances and acts like an arrogant child during a pro basketball game
