Cavs are Mishandling Delonte West

I am sick and tired of the Cavs hand feeding this guy. He's a grown man who's acting like a fool. It was funny and cute in the past, now it's unprofessionalism. He needs to be sent home immediately. I've said so months ago, I've said so when he put up good stats and I'm still saying so.

Whether it's a mental illness that he's struggling with or not is irrelevant. He cannot be trusted. I don't care if LeBron wants him out there or not, LeBron should not be running this organization (if that's the case). If Delonte does something reckless again this time much of the blame would fall on the team for putting too much trust in him. Fool me once shame on you, as the saying goes that excuse can only be applied once.

If any team in the NBA were to believe that Delonte West is the difference between a championship or not then said team was never a championship contender to begin with. I don't care which team it is. They are bending over catering to a gun toting, emotionally unstable back up combo guard. What in the world is going on? Even if they send him home he still has some trade value, he's basically an expiring contract (great job by Ferry negotiating another Pavs-like deal).

It's not like Delonte West has a long term deal and they will have to find a way to squeeze the most out of him. He's not going to be a part of this team going forward, there's zero chance of that. They should cut ties before he does something significant again to embarrass this organization.

It's gotten to the point where I don't care if it was LeBron James acting like this, he would need to be sent home also.

Enough is enough.

You sound like a troll.

I just wasted 5 minutes of my life reading this thread and your LeBron dancing thread.

Can the Lakers have him? I promise he would ruin our team's chemistry.

He is and has always been a troll. What's worse is that he goes to whomever else we might be playing just to try to stir up the anticavs rabble.

Wait, acting like what?

Seriously, he'd be a perfect fit for the Lakers.

I dont feel like hes embarrassed the organization. He did some stupid **** in a different state over the summer, it doesn't reflect on the cavs at all.

regardless of delontes mindset durring the course of the day he should play. being on the court is the one place where he can escape his problems and focus his attentions elsewhere. that and his the cavs putting the right people around him would be best for him. also i dont think it did him any good for any of this going public. as somebody who is bi-polar i try not to let anyone know in my personal life because i dont want to sound like a charity case.

Osiris is not a troll. He's been a frequent poster on every Cavs board I can think of....(The old Cavs board on nba.com which is now cavfanatic.com, realcavsfans.com....etc). His opinions are just stern.....he almost reminds me of Eastwood in Gran Torino.

Lol if you say so but I have never seen him say anything positive at all about the cavs so he certainly sounds like a troll. Also it is just dumb not to realize that West is a good player when he is focused and that he was a key part of last years team that has been improved this year so I dont understand how we just cut ties with him when he helps us (example A, see todays game against the bucks)

He's been a Cavs fan all his life. He is not a troll, he's just an upset fan.

As others have said, Osiris is just a very opinionated Cavs fan. My issue with this thread is that I don't think this is new activity for West. The only reason we are hearing so much about it now is because of the arrest over the summer.

The only thing that he's done that's really even mattered was the arrest over the summer.

Hi all, this is my first post on the board. I've been a long time poster on RCF and Scout before that. I've always followed RGM, but just never registered. It just wouldn't be right if my first post wasn't to disagree with something a mod said. ;)

The problem with West at this point is that his mental state is still all over the map, and hence nobody knows whether manic or depressive Delonte is going to show up day to day. This is a major concern for a team with a lot more than just championship aspirations at stake.

He also happens to have a valuable contract as it can be turned in to an expiring by exercising a rather cheap team option.

The fact we were even willing to deal for Stephen Jackson's terrible contract should tell you how important it is to the team that this get settled one way or another. If Delonte can get past his court troubles and show that he can maintain an even keel, he might eventually get re-inserted back in to the starting lineup; if not - then we're going to try to move him for a SG or perhaps even a tall backup PG. Thank goodness Parker has been as good as he's been.

The team has stood behind West, but this is an extra-ordinary season with a whole lot at stake, and that changes everything.
