Could LeBron bring Wade to the Cavs or is LeBron a goner?

Peter Vecsey, who writes for the New York Post, wrote a column about the possibility of LeBron and Dwayne playing together, on the some NBA team. Peter was in Chicago, doing his first interview of Dwayne Wade and asked him what the possibility was, of LeBron and Wade perhaps playing on the same team one day.
For those of you who read the article, you know that Peter was surprised by Wade's candid answers, and the completeness and direct way with which he handled the interview. Wade went on to tell Peter that he and LeBron had conspired back in 06 to keep their options open, for the possibility of perhaps playing on the same team one day.
Dwayne Wade wrote:"Before we agreed to terms, LeBron and I had a couple conversations," Wade said. "I can't recall exactly what we said, but the gist of it was we wanted to give ourselves the flexibility and the option to play together.
"A lot of times in this league, players usually wind up going where they can get the most money. We're both blessed within that area. We've made a lot of money. So we wanted to base our decision on two things, the organization and the ability to win a title. And that's what we'll do. When the season is over, we plan to sit down and talk about it.
"I'm not saying it will happen. But I'm intrigued by the idea.
"I probably couldn't have handled playing with someone like LeBron earlier in my career, but I'm older now. You're talking about two big egos and meshing them. That'd take a lot of sacrifice on LeBron's part and it'd take a lot of sacrifice on my part to succeed. But we would succeed because we know winning takes care of everything."

As Peter finished up his story, he noted that Dwayne Wade had all but ruled out coming to Cleveland, although Wade never mentioned anything about Cleveland (or Miami for that matter). How Peter came to his conclusion is anybody's guess, but I thought that it would be a good topic to discuss with other fans (of the Cavaliers), once they had seen what Dwayne had said.
So, now that you know what Wade has said, and you know where we are as a team, and where the other clubs are as franchises, what do you think the chances are of LeBron James bringing Wade here? Note that Wade said that he couldn't play with other stars; but with LeBron it was different. To me it almost sounds as if they will both either play in Miami or here in Cleveland. Wade also said that the Organization had a lot to do with the decision.
Should we assume that they will definitely be playing together, or is this perhaps another mis-direction; a hatched plan that they both came up with to keep everyone guessing what they would do? Remember, LeBron already said he wouldn't answer any more questions regarding his free-agency.

They also said who is the better franchise. It sure as hell is not Miami. LB is not going there just because of palm trees and warm weather.

That is true...but there is still Chicago, Jersey, New York, or any other team. Things just seem to be crazier this year than normal. Maybe it's just me reading into things too-much, but I doubt it.

Peter Vecsey has a terrible reputation as a writer. I wouldn't pay him any mind even on direct quotes.

You got to be kidding!!

LBJ is gone.
FYI for anyone else that chooses to post in this thread, any assumption that LeBron will leave without significant justification is baiting and will generate an automatic warning.

What??? Peter is an excellent writer. He is a horrible Homer... but that's to be expected from a New Yorker!
His interview with Wade left very little room for his homerism to shine through, but he tried at the end anyway.
However, I base what I ask on what Wade said, not on Pete's writing. Wade said they would sit down and talk about it after the season, and had already discussed it previously. These quotes left no room for Pete to add in his usual colorful analysis and interpretation, as Wade was pretty Black & White with his quotes.
I want to know what people think... and so do the people who will read your replies!

I don't doubt that the man knows how to write (that is his job), but it is his reputation that I have a problem with.
he works for a big paper in NY, but he is always wrong or writes in a style that make him look like he is telling you the truth about something new and the opposite turns out to be the right. he never gives you the full context of conversions only what sells.
I am totally speculating here, but I can see Wade and Lebron having a chat about how cool it would be to play in the same team in the NBA on a bus ride to a game during the Olympics. then Vescey comes in makes it news as if this may actually happen. as a reporter I would at least wait for confirmation that players agents are at least talking to teams about bringing said players together before printing it otherwise your report is....well.... nothing.

Some how, I get the feeling that Lebron and Wade will be teammates. In Miami.

haha wasn't referring to you - I actually agree with what you said. Everything Vecsey (and most writers, really) says should be taken with a grain of salt.

Peter is in the NBA Hall Of Fame for his reporting and writing on basketball. He did not get there by making up quotes from superstars.
Like I said, I am basing everything I say on Wade's direct Quotes. Although Peter has a VERY sarcastic writing style, and is a cynic, I would never think that he would make up false quotes. I have been writing since the late 80's, and I am familiar with Peter and his brother (George).
You have to understand, that usually sports-stars do not give "full and detailed" replies to questions...IE LeBron, when asked of his 2010 plans. Rather, they are vague, which forces the writer to surmise, based upon other things he/she may know. When the writer is a homer (Such as the 'Viper' or 'the Sports guy [Simmons]) Then their articles are usually slanted toward the team of their liking. Slanting a story based upon vague information is acceptable; making up a quote from a superstar would get him fired immediately.
