Z has officially been traded. Z now loses his title of player with the longest tenure with a single team.
I had to make this post just in case something messed up happens and Z doesnt come back.
I appreciate you big fella, and you will always be one of my favorite Cavs.
Now take a month off with your wife and kids and get your ass back here. Dont you even think of answering your phone for any other team that calls for your services!

Z is the man. I feel calm because he's definitely coming back. No other options are allowed.
My favorite Zydrunas videos:

Wiretap says the Mavs will persue Z if he is bought out. Interesting, does Z wait 30 days or take the Dallas deal?
I do like this deal for Jamison alot, but something just doesn't sit right with me with dealing with the Wizards. What are the chances they don't buyout Z?

Didn't Z talk about what he would be doing with his family and two young boys during his 30 days off? I also don't see him choosing the Mavs over the Cavs, the team he has been with since he turned pro. Oh, and he has a house in Cleveland.. So.
I don't really see why the Wiz wouldn't buyout Z. What use would they make out of a 34 year old center with foot problems? Plus, I doubt anyone would like him in Washington, especially after being with the Cavs.

I really can't see the Cavs playing without Z. He's a fixture for the team. While I think you have to make a move to improve the team. I still wouldn't like it if we knew Z wasn't coming back.

i just can't foresee z not being back with the cavs...and definitely not to a team where he would compete for minutes with brendan haywood

Haywood was traded to Dallas a few days ago(along with Caron Butler). I just don't trust the Wizards to buy him out. I hope it happens though.

It would be sad to win a title without Z, I really hope to see him in 30 days. What a punch in the nuts to him if washington doesnt offer him the buyout. Finally we have the team to beat and the price is shipping Z to that sinkhole on the east coast.

Washington save 5-7 million buying him out. Even Wilbon says they're buying Z out. It gets them under the cap for this season.

The Wizards can turn around and trade Z and save money in another deal (although only 90 minutes left to do so), so it's not an automatic that Z gets bought out. The Wizards are only 483k over the luxury tax.

Z better be back. I don't know if we need him as much as it wouldn't be right to make a title run without him.
Big Z should retire in CLE.

My only issue with this is that there is a little z in Boozer. Hope that's where the similarity ends

Z Breaks silence.
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf ... _join.htmlCLEVELAND, Ohio -- Zydrunas Ilgauskas was on his way to the airport this morning, heading for Washington, D.C., and his new team, the Wizards. The thought of putting on a new jersey makes him almost queasy.
And he'll have to wear No. 17, because the Wizards have retired his usual No. 11 in honor of Elvin Hayes.
But that might be the smallest change facing the beloved long-time Cavs center, the franchise leader in games played, rebounds and blocked shots who was traded to the Wizards on Wednesday as part of the three-team deal that brought Antawn Jamison to the Cavaliers .
It has been a tough three days for Ilgauskas. After a long practice on Wednesday, he spent two hours with some teammates at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital visiting terminally ill children. As soon as he stepped outside, he got the call from Cavs general manager Danny Ferry telling him he'd been traded after 14 years with the Cavs, who made the 7-foot-3 center from Lithuania their first-round pick in the 1996 draft, No. 20 overall.
"It was emotional,'' Ilgauskas said of the call with Ferry, a friend and former teammate whose voice quivered when he told reporters about the phone call during a press conference on Thursday.
Though it has been widely rumored that Washington will release Ilgauskas, who would be able to sign back with the Cavs in 30 days, nothing has been discussed to this point.
"Right now I'm a Wizard,'' he said. "I think eventually they'll let me go, but that's just my guess. They haven't told me anything yet. First I've got to go to Washington, and hopefully after a couple of days they'll let me go home.''[/b].''
Best Cavalier ever.
