At this age is scary good player.....But to be the GOAT he has a climb!
He is the best player I've ever see(with Wilt) but to considered as the GOAT he must win rings(how many?) and a couple of MVPs!

I believe in him and his potential but he must prove that!

In order to be considered THE GOAT he'd have to grow two horns in the area of his forehead, come out with some Big Apple themed hoof covers, grow a thick rough layer of fur, sprout a little tail, and sign with a team that hails from a mountainous region, maybe Denver...? I dont have a clue how to photoshop, but I bet a picture showing that LeBron is the G.O.A.T. could look pretty cool. Of course he has a chance, its not a given, but come on. Have you seen 'The Fly'?

He doesn't have the sustainable cast around him in Cleveland to win like Jordan did and if he goes to NY he'll be losing prime years while they try to get it together.

Even if he could match Jordan's accomplishments he'd have to clearly surpass them to be viewed as the GOAT.

If he got to play for a HOF coach with talent around him and win about 6 titles, he would have a case. But the way the NBA is now, I don't think it will happen. I would love to be wrong though.

I don't see him becoming the GOAT, but he is the best player I've seen since MJ. Shaq in his prime is better then anything LJ has done so far, but honestly I think Shaq's prime years were pretty short. I think Lebron is going to be in his prime for a very long time, so that's why I put him ahead of Shaq.

He has a chance.. He is only 25 years old and has done a lot no player in history has ever accomplished. Only time will tell.

Will depend more on his teammates. Jordan had the luxury of playing in his prime alongside one of the greatest SF's ever.

All-time ranking is based a great deal on luck in terms of having quality teammates and coaches.

no because he is going to lose his athletism after 30 and his game will diminsh quickly. he's going to need to rely on a back to the basket post game and mid range shot to suceed, both which he doesnt have.

Of course Lebron has a chance to go down as the GOAT. Why not? He is a phenomenal player. The poor guy needs a better supporting cast. Here is my list of the all-time greats.

Lebron needs to win a minimum of 2 championships to get into this class. But, he definitely has the skills to do it!

He will finish with more all nba first teams than Jordan and probably more MVPs and points and rebounds and assists. He just needs the rings and finals mvps. If he can be a 7 time MVP winner, 10+ all nba first teams, 5 rings with 5 finals MVPs and no true Pippen he will be the best.

It depends on how you define GOAT. By my definition, LeBron could retire today and be the GOAT. He is far and away the greatest player I've ever seen. Winning titles is irrelevant. Breaking records is irrelevant.

If Jordan haven't won 6 rings or 5 MVPs he wouldn't consider as the GOAT...but as one of the Greatests!
Rings and MVPs are very important for a GOAT candidate!
LBJ is a Phenom and is my favorite player(With Chamberlain 2nd favorite and Big O 3rd)but to be in the discussion as the GOAT he must Win Rings and MVPs!

This doesnt make sense, i dont get this argument...Who has a better supporting cast right now than Lebron does? Its clearly not the celtics with 3 severely aging stars who lost at home today to the nets, nor is it the Magic who have 1 superstar and then a bunch of comparable level guys to the cavs (Shard, Jameer, VC, and Barnes), and actually saying they are comparable is very much up to debate. The Lakers have a good squad obviously with 2 perennial all stars (Kobe and Pau), 3 guys who have proven they can (still) play at this level (sorry fisher, but your bad...) and a good young center who is starting to put it together. But its not like lebron is surrounded with the worst team ever...

Hell yes he does. This is coming from a Bulls fan. I honestly believe he can surpass Mike due to his combination of being a highly cerebral player, as well as one of the most physically dominant players ever.
