Durring the game tonight against the bucks he said JJ will benefit from guarding centers when he moves back to PF. I agree with this statement because JJ keeps improving and is still very young. what are your guys opinions on this?

I don't really have a concern of JJ being overpowered by other power forwards, so I do not know exactly how this center stint will help him when guarding PFs. I think the PT he has been getting will be the most helpful. For awhile I thought JJ would be the odd man out come playoff time, but I am glad to see that he seems to have cemented his role in the rotation.

He has made huge strides this year. Last year he didn't play unless we were up 20.
At the beginning of the year, all Hickson did was 2 handed dunks. Recently, I've seen him make some tough layups and he's put in some nice post moves with a hook shot. Plus, anyone see him knock down those 17 footers last night?

Ha, those mid range jumpers had me drooling a bit. If he can start doing that consistently, combined with working on his first step, he is going to be a handful. I'll laugh when Hickson is hitting jumpers and Varejao is still bricking every other shot.

Hickson should be able to make shots. His shot looks sound but he's still a worse jump shooter than Varejao who's shot is very unorthodox.

The jumper is one thing, but I'm more concerned with him improving his footwork and catching the ball...I'll take that before anything else...
I would absolutely love to see the Cavs bring in Olajuwon to work with Hickson on those aspects of the game... The jumper is just reps... His form is sound, elbow in, follows through, gets good arc, gets good lift with his legs, so it's more about reps and reps...
The true fundamentals of a big man is what he's lacking and I would love to see those improve first and foremost... The energy is there, the work ethic is getting there, now learning how to box out, reading the ball off the rim better, using better footwork and catching/holding on to the ball is what we need to see take strides this summer...

Love JJ's progress.
He still might be riding pine come playoff time though. Shaq/Z will get the center minutes, Andy/Jamison will get the PF minutes.
Hopefully Brown works him in the rotation somehow.

Austin makes me think almost every game. Like why the hell does he call Jamison "the jump shooter" ? He scores most of his points around the basket. Last game Austin had about a 10 to 12 second rant that I couldnt decipher, so I went back two more times to listen and I still couldnt make any sense of what he said.
That being said, I do think JJ playing center will help him when playing d against a PF who likes to post up. I mean, he isnt a good post defender yet, but at least the exposure has to help, its not like there is anyone on this roster other than Shaq and maybe Powe who is a legitimate low post player, so JJ probably hasnt been exposed to that much in practice.
I agree with Mcfly that the PT is probably the most beneficial to his game and confidence, and I think Brown will try to get JJ some time in the playoffs, it would be a waste not get him some experience then. Though Brown does many things that leave me scratching my head, so you never know.
