Going on your point, yeah, this was the last year we had a chance in this division. The other 3 teams all have reason to believe they are good, and now the Cubs look like a force.

As was debated on this thread, the guy knew how to build through the draft and reclamation/trades. They will now pay to keep these guys around and finally spend some of the extra big-market money for support.

Maybe in year 8 it will crash and burn like it did in Boston from all of the money the big market has, but that's a long ways from now.

My college buddy from Chicago has been raving about the prospect the past couple years. I just kind of shrugged it off. The reality is starting to hit that the Cubs are going to be bad ass in the near future.
