Royals went full Gomez swinging at all of those neck high pitches. Disappointing result.

Bumgarner with a legendary performance in this World Series though. Pretty sure the guy is a cyborg. Simply unreal pitching by him.

Re: 2014 MLB Playoffs Thread
That bunt early on was the play of the game for me. Harold Reynolds somehow disagreed with a bunt.
Yost dug his own grave. Bunt wasn't the absolute worst call, but he set the table for his #2 hitter, Nori Aoki. Such a Yostian move to put a "professional hitter" that is a "prototypical #2 hitter" in the most important spot in the lineup. Put Gordon there.
Sad for the Royals, happy that an idiot like Yost finally had to pay for his decisions, even if this one wasn't catastrophically bad.

I can't believe he bunted there.... Leadoff hitter with a 2-0 count. 0 outs man on 1st... Aoki was hitting around .090 for the WS and was also 0-16 vs bumgardener for his career i think. he bunts to set up aoki... so stupid. he completely ignored the numbers. anyway i feel bad for the players but so glad Yost blew one there.

Re: 2014 MLB Playoffs Thread
Definitely...To his credit, Aoki hit the ball hard actually, but the gripe in general is that Yost is still managing 1970s ball with arguably his worst hitter in the lineup in the most important lineup slot.
