Wise is 1-1 with a 3.41 ERA
Turnbow is 1-3 with a 3.99 ERA

Wise is steady. He gets the job done. I don't care about how much more potential Turnbow has. Right now he hurts us mroe than Wise or he has this season based on my observation and on the #'s.

Turnbow has pitched in 32 games and given up runs in 7 of them. Wise has pitched in 28 games and given up runs in 10 of them.

If Yost knew when to take Turnbow out and not let him completely implode (see Philadelphia) then his ERA would be lower. Either way ERA counts very little for relief pitchers with about 30 innings pitched because their ERA can go up and down a lot because of not having pitched many innings.

People are on Turnbow because of basically three bad games. The back to back losses against Philly and the blowup against Atlanta. He's been so good in the other games that he leads all of baseball in holds.

Imagine if this were true:

Randall (Phoenix, AZ): What can the Brewers expect from pitcher Yovani Gallardo after he was recently called up?

Jerry Crasnick: Randall,

Not to hang too much on the kid, but he was 8-3 with 110 strikeouts in 77 innings in Triple A ball. I think Gallardo could have an impact similar to what we saw from Francisco Liriano or Jered Weaver when they arrived from the minors. Lord knows, the Brewers need a lift right now.

Shouldnt be a problem. He consistently goes 7 or 8. I think he has more decisions (7-7) than any other player on the team. Thats the good thing about Soup he might not always pitch the best but you can always rely on him to make the start and usually go about 7 innings and almost always be the pitcher that gets the win or loss.

He's only gone 7 innings or more in 5 of 14 starts this year.

Yeah I should have researched that before posting that. Well either way he usually goes long enough to get a decision and thats really all we need for Gallardo to start tommorrow.

Yeah even if he only goes like 5 innings we still should be fine. Spurling and Capellan can go a couple innings, Wise could go again of course they'll need to pad the dugout if he pitches and hopefully Turnbow and Cordero get to pitch again.
