It's fine for this year but Chase Anderson sucks.

Hilarious that Bill is talking about all the tough pitching we're facing and fails to mention that not once in 7 games against the Dodgers will we face Kershaw.

You weren't inferring this, but on that topic, I am still a fan of the Brewers side of the trade. I wonder if Segura's BABIP is going to drop and put him back down to the same replacement-level hitter that he normally is. That's the only thing that is keeping that trade from still being a robbery given that Diaz is starting to hit well with a .970 OPS in June.

Segura was coming back to earth but then jumped up again a bit. His production has basically been a little bit better at home in a slightly better hitting park of AZ and he has torn up Coors this year.

Chase will be a the garbage #4 starter during the rebuild and may be the #5 swing guy in 2018 or 2019 if he gets back to being that mid 4s FIP guy...but probably just AAAA fodder.

BOOOOOO!

Why take Guerra out? The guy is 31, the Brewers aren't contending for anything, and he was working on a 2 hitter through eight.

Let the guy go for a complete game shutout up 7-0. He's earned the career highlight.

What a way to end June! Who would have thought at the start of the season that on July 1st our two best pitchers would be Junior Guerra and Zach Davies?

109 pitches is still a lot. No need to risk his arm for a career highlight. I bet he agrees with the decision.

I wonder if Guerra has any trade value. It would be crazy-awesome to turn a guy that we got for nothing into a prospect or two.

Guerra will be the Brewers' version of Samkon Gado. Maybe he's got some value over the next few years, but likely he's a fun fan favorite story during a rebuilding year that your Joe Public fan will freak out about being traded or just not effective/not used next season.

If he were 23, you pull him. If they were realistically chasing the playoffs, you pull him.

I just think sometimes you go for the fun of game. Who knows if Guerra will be in position again for a complete game shutout. When he got through the 8th I was pumped. With the road that guy has traveled, a two hit shutout would be mighty sweet (one of the highlights of the season).

I don't know, I'm just an older guy who grew up watching pitchers like Nolan Ryan, Jack Morris, David Cone, Tom Glavine ... etc. Those guys would regularly throw over 120 pitches in a game and had long careers. Nowadays we have them on pitch counts in middle school yet they still end up with arm problems. Before anyone attacks me, I realize there is a necessity, but sometimes you can go a little outside of standards for team and fan enjoyment.

Does it really make that much **** difference if he pitches one more inning? Christ. If he has a no hitter or something sure but an extra inning means jack ****.

I'm just rooting for the guy. I think throwing a complete game two-hit shutout is an achievement. A lot of things can happen to prevent that from happening, like, you know, pitch counts or something. I certainly dreamed of pitching complete game shutouts as a kid.

With our loss today, we are now 1.5 games back of a top 5 pick. Very nice. Keep on keeping em' close boys.
