Ben Sheets injury

Post#1 » by Ruben Douglas » Mon Jul 16, 2007 3:04 am

What happens if he goes down for the rest of the season? Can Gallardo pick up the slack?

Brewer fans better hope for just a strain.

From what Sheets said today it looks to be not serious at all. He'll likely be ready for his next start.

But yes I do think Gallardo would do just fine in the rotation.

from rotoworld:

Ben Sheets said Sunday that his right middle finger had not improved since he left Saturday night's game with a sprained distal.
"I just can't put any pressure on it," he said. Sheets said he remains uncertain if he will have an MRI on Monday, and he is not sure if he can make his next start.

Yeah, Sunday morning he said it felt good and Sunday afternoon he said it didn't. He could miss a start, but Gallardo would be a good fill-in. He pitched ok against the Giants in his debut.

Hell, let him miss 2 starts. With Gallardo, I'm not worried, and I'd rather give him ample time so it doesn't happen again.
