Speaking of Brinson, i never understood why he was kept on the big league roster and Phillips sent down?

Phillips was playing better in the minors and the team could have used a lefthanded bat more.

Agree on Phillips. I can't help but wonder if they're going to trade Broxton soon.

Would anyone but me be shocked if they got anything of value in a trade of Broxton? I feel like everyone knows who he is. Slightly above average defender with some pop but ton of K's. He's just 'meh' to me as a CF.

I'd say it's more that "some" pop by cf standards. His power and speed combo are right there with Gomez in his prime. He's not doing well on defense by any measure for some reason, but he's got a lot of tools. I think they'll get something for him if he keeps it up. His OBP is almost 100 points above his average too. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can get for him.

Yeah I think you can expect a return of what the Indians got in Brandon Moss. A Rob Kaminsky type of prospect. Just outside top 100 guy. We have to thin this OF group out soon TBH. We have too many guys and not enough spots.

And don't forget that Broxton will be dirt cheap for a few years and under team control for four more years.

So even if he just remained as he currently is as a solid overall CF, Broxton has added value by being so cheap and if he played better going forward, he'd be a total steal financially.

I'd be surprised if Broxton got much of a hall personally. He has some tools but doesn't hit for average, and strikes out a lot. But if you want Brinson in there, just take what you can get.
