Counsell played the top of the 5th inning like they needed to get runs because rain is going to at minimum delay and maybe even have it be a shortened finish but in the bottom of the 5th decides to bring in Jennings instead of one of our top relievers to keep the lead.

Yeah, it was strange. Not to mention keeping him in against consecutive righties after the inning clearly got away from him (plays by Shaw and Aguilar notwithstanding). Just ugly all around.

Jennings is really just a guy. He's better than Drake, sure, but he's really just a guy. No way he should be in to protect a 2-1 lead.
