Big missed opportunity but at least the padres dropped 5 in the 8th and 9th after giving up the lead.

The bigger problem was getting down in the count 3-0, especially knowing Story was up next. Knebel was up against it at that point. His control is a real problem.

Difference in the game turned out to be 2 gidp in extras for the brewers vs a non turned gidb in the 9th for the rockies.

Meh we didn't really deserve it but you have to take the wins when the other team just hands them to you.

He was out. Kratz is painfully slow and sliding is proven to worsen your chance at beating out a throw to first.

Schoop has still been brutal so far and I'll still pin that game most on him in spite of that flair single in extras. Probably never would have went to extras if not for the 0-fer, double play, and one he was slow in turning himself when the Rockies scored their 4th run. He's got about a 2 or 3 WBR (wins below replacement) level in his short stint w/ the Brewers so far. At most fault for this loss, the extra innings loss against the Dodgers, and Thames saved his ass on Friday.

Jenkins was a really good player, he just was stuck playing on teams that rarely had any pitching.

Career .834 OPS

Three seasons with a .935/.948/.913 OPS

Two of those years came in the less hitter friendly County Stadium

Solid defensively with a good arm

Besides all of that, was a Brett Favre twin

Yelich's current season is pretty similar to Jenkins age 24 and 25 seasons so I have never had an issue with the Jenkins comparisons. Just that Jenkins never really had seasons like that ever again, partly due to his constant injuries.

Has more speed than Jenkins ever did. This streak will be fun while it lasts for sure

I'll never forget that one where he broke his ankle sliding into thirdbase if my memory is correct, that was brutal looking and i'm far from squeamish.

I still think of this every time I see someone take a hard stride into first running out a grounder. I know that’s not how he did it, but still.
