You think he should have started this year or are you implying they will put him in the pen next year? I would have been fine with him starting this year but I don't hate him getting a taste of the big out of the pen and assume he'll be given an opportunity to win a spot in the rotation next year.

Well he should be starting right now just looking at our rotation and I question how much he's going to be able to pitch last year after only getting maybe 110 innings this year.

I certainly wouldn't complain if he replaced Junior next time through. You could have a point on the innings thing since they don't like doing too much of an increase year or year. But he did throw 145 last year and as a college guy he's probably more ready than most guys so he might still be a full go next year. Hell with the way these guys get hurt it's probably works its self out.

My biggest fear with the young pitchers is 3 years from now we look back and Ortiz was the best of the bunch and they gave him away. Maybe I'm reading too much into things but they just never seemed that high on him. He's pitched well so far for the O's in the minors so curious to see how it plays out.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I really doubt they're going to want to increase his work load from 110 to 180 innings even if he pitched 145 innings in 2017.

Checks boxscore. Sees Braun headed to the IL. Sun sets. Moon rises. Forests burn. Another day on Earth.

Return to Milwaukee Brewers
