Way to salvage a win. 7 teams within 2 games of the WC. Have to go to Cincy and win that series.

At Miller Park
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Like a week and a half ago we had the most wins in the NL and we are about two years in front of where we thought we would be with most of minors in tact.

Plus the Astros are using guys in the majors acquired and developed while Stearns was there. Just a weird overall sentiment.

We are in the midst of another 2nd half collapse and missing the playoffs again. I think putting that all on Counsell(who I think has his weaknesses) is giving him too much credit. It’s more than likely a roster makeup that’s not sustainable for an entire season. I’m fine with him but how long of a leash are we giving him? Idk I’m probably just frustrated because we have had 2 competitive seasons in 10 years and at a certain point you want some semblance of hope. 3rd place here we come!

Hmm. Not sure why even bring up Stearns. This is his 3rd season. Battling for playoff spots in year 2 and 3. Made some very good transactions to get this team where its at today. The starting pitching will come (hopefully next year). I'm not really clear what some peoples expectations are from a rebuilt team. Just really silly to even ask the question.

I’m no expert but it felt like a 4-5 year rebuild from here. The fact that they are competing for a wild card spot in year three exceeded my expectations.

This season isn’t over but I don’t expect playoffs this this year. I think they are already toast. Hope I’m wrong.

The question now is how do they build on this? Farm system seems relatively deep. Player development is improved from the last regime. No real blue chippers though but hopefully trade or player development increases those odds.

I think a huge key next year and beyond is one or more of the young starters really stepping up. Burnes takes a step, Peralta develops his secondary pitches, maybe hader gets a starting chance, hell maybe even a guy like bubba derby, dilpan, Ponce get here and contribute.

One of Davies or Nelson getting healthy and right next year would be huge.

Lineup wise Ray and hiura could make it to the bigs next year and both have a shot of being good. It would be great if Santana remembered how to hit too. Nottingham could provide a guy to mix in with pena but catcher is a spot I could see them address via FA or trade this winter. Maybe dubon can be a better utility guy than Perez.

Baseball is unpredictable but this team isn't drawing dead and this could just be the start of something good.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I mean, do you factor in the players? Been some really sloppy baseball lately.

How bad would this team be without Yelich and Cain too? I mean even if we didn't get one of them.....yikes. We just really need some players to step up.
