Jeffress giving up 2 runs in game 2.
Burnes giving up 2 runs late in game 2.
Arcia bunts in game 4.
We walk Bellinger and pitch to Urias game 4.

Game four frustrated me more than any other game and not because of anything Counsell did. The offense had so many innings to just score one single run and then go up 3-1 in the series, pretty much locking up a World Series berth. One run, that's it.

They play 163 regular season games, beat Colorado, and have the Dodgers down two games to one, and tied late 1-1 in game four. A likely World Series berth staring them right in the face if they can just plate a run in any of the say 7th-12th innings. I felt sick to my stomach after that game because i knew that the Brewers kept the Dodgers alive there.

Such a great season and this team is still young and built for the future, but there's always gonna be the thought in the back of my head that this was our one chance. The optimist in me says that Stearns is gonna keep this team a contender for years to come, but it just felt like this was team of destiny and it to squander a Game 7 at home like that is just brutal. The Royals accomplished it so that gives me hope, but the margin of error and championship window for small market teams is just a lot slimmer than in other sports. Such is the fickle nature of baseball.

Couldn’t agree more. Like I mentioned before they had so many thing go their way this year and so many things lined up for them it really felt they wasted a chance at destiny if that makes any sense. They’ve got a major uphill battle to get back to where they were just at. There is absolutely nothing given or expected about getting to an NLCS game 7 at home.
