Prince suspended three games/Gross up, Spurling DFA'd

Post#1 » by goirish2107 » Wed Aug 15, 2007 5:17 pm

Figured I'd just keep it at one thread.

Heard about Prince on 1250 and 1510, someone else can link if they find it and want to. i think its bulllllll ****. didn't see the game, but from what i hear its questionable he even touched him. but ill leave that discussion to people who saw it.

Read about Spurling and Gross on Brewerfan.net, they mentioned hearing it on 1510. if this is true, i for one am sad to see spurling go. i guess we couldn't keep 13 pitchers forever, but i thought he had performed well. hope gross can keep the bat going after getting some ab's in nashville. maybe he's coming up to address the fielder suspension, although i would assume that will be appealed for a bit.

I'm sure Prince will appeal the suspension.

Yeah Prince will probably appeal and it might be lowered to a game or 2.

At least there is some good news (spurling)

They forgot about Capuano. He should have followed Spurling to the streets.

My first thought as well. Young and Lee get 5 games for actually throwing punches and Fielder get 3 for "bumping" an umpire.

ETA: Glad to see that about Spurling too. He wasn't good and I've been calling for his DFA for a couple months now. Glad they finally listened to me.

This is complete crap, I thought for sure it was only going to be a 1 gamer if at all any games. I trust there will be an appeal and a reduction.

Keeping this in here to remind Turk how silly he is.

I thought 2 games would be the most he'd get. I do like that comparison with Lee and Young getting 5 for throwing punches, but Fielder gets 3 because his fat ass got too close to another's fat ass.

Lou got suspended 4 games for bumping an umpire back in June.
We didn't see him bump the ump.
Now of course, a manager getting suspended means nothing since they still make the lineups and call all the shots from the press box.

I think Prince should drop his appeal ASAP. His appeal may not be heard until September during the stretch run but looking at your schedule you guys have some big games ahead of you. Reds, D'backs, Giants, Cubs.

Eh, go ahead and sit out vs. the D'Backs. We don't mind sweeping you guys. ;)

Doesn't really matter..

Add another loss in the overall record and another loss at home and I'd say it's spot on.

Thanks I couldn't figure that out on my own. That big red circle around it didn't tip me off.
