If Rodgers is on the same regimen as Braun and gets caught, it would be the most crushing sports moment in Wisconsin sports history.

Not that I know of, had to assume this was the case but it still makes me feel worse.

This has me re-thinking all sorts of things about Braun even down to something "did he sign that big extension with us to get a bunch of money guaranteed in case he got busted in the future?"

Braun's camp didn't have to leak the guy's name, especially when Braun was actually doping.

Well technically yesterday should have been the first time we even found out about a Braun suspension too.

Bingo. Braun and/or his camp accused him of tampering with the sample. Big difference between that and saying the test might have been off due to the specimen not arriving at the lab on a timely basis. One of the stories I read today mentioned that email Braun's camp sent out detailing how the collector had access to drugs that could have been used to tamper with the sample by virtue of the Dino working at the hospital or something like that.

And some of the sheeple Brewer fans ate it up, claiming DIno was a Cubs fan and thus had a "motive".

The reason the Braun case is getting so much more play than a lot of other PED users is precisely because of Braun's bad character in tossing other people under the bus to continue his lie.

Braun AND his camp found an event during the testing process that did not abide by the rules of the Joint Drug Agreement, took it to the arbiter, and won.

Tada.

Yeah, and he leaked out a lot of innuendo that the guy spiked the sample. Did the guy do something horribly wrong? No, he simply used sloppy custody procedures. The test obviously was still accurate. Yet Braun decided to destroy Dino's life to preserve his own reputation. Doesn't met my balancing test of personal integrity. Might be an equivalent sin in yours. Others mileage may vary.

As I've said before, Quinn is dragging this out solely to milk the fake outrage in the media and to get page views.

Anyone in the media - and this includes Wickett, Sparky, and The Prince of Darkness - who thinks that Braun was truly clean prior to this was living in a candy land world of delusion.

Two people that I've been reading via Twitter that seem to have their heads on pretty straight with this are Will Carroll (@injuryexpert) and Craig Calcaterra (@craigcalcaterra). While they are clearly disappointed with what has transpired, they're calling it for what everyone should have seen going all the way back to Braun winning his appeal: He clearly did *something" and anyone who took Braun's continued denials as gospel are even dumber than we thought.

This has nothing to do with integrity or the fact Braun lied about taking PEDs. MLB violated its own procedures. Braun's representatives used all available means and did not violate the process. If this guy has a beef its with himself or MLB. End of story.

No arguments that Braun shouldn't have gotten off last year. Chain of custody was broken.

Completely different issue though from one of personal integrity. Braun has none. He could have easily said that he believed the chain of custody was at issue and it may have resulted in a false positive. My lawyers are looking into it. And he could still then win his appeal. End of story.

Instead he took it further. A lot further.

Why is Braun such a villain? Because after getting a reprieve last year that it’s now pretty obvious he didn’t deserve, he had the gall to smear the lowest man on the baseball org chart to make himself look a teeny-tiny bit better. In February 2012, after he successfully appealed a 50-game drug suspension, the 2011 MVP smarmed his way through a victory press conference, whining that he’d been wrongfully accused and that the whole process had been so very hard on him. He also attacked the integrity of Dino Laurenzi Jr., the man who’d collected his urine sample. "There were a lot of things that we learned about the collector, about the collection process, about the way that the entire thing worked that made us very concerned and very suspicious about what could have actually happened," he said, citing nothing at all to support his claims. “We spoke to biochemists and scientists, and asked them how difficult it would be for someone to taint the sample. They said, if they were motivated, it would be extremely easy.” At the same time, Braun praised his own moral rectitude, saying, “I will continue to take the high road. We won because the truth was on my side.”

I can post the email Passan and other reporters got from Braun's camp that he printed in his story today but I think you guys have all read it. That was a lot worse. Basically said "Dino did it"

Braun took the leap from "bad custody procedure, something could have gone wrong" to "focus your attention on this punk, he had motive and resources to spike my test".

Doesn't mean he shouldn't have won his case last year. Just means he's a moral scumbag.

Braun deserves punishment for cheating and being called out for playing the victim but reading the moral outrage from Passan, Olney, etc. is so over the top. Cockroach!!! This entire Biogenesis witch hunt has been nauseating and now the finger wagging has made it that much worse.

I can't believe there's people on here who think PEDs should be legal... Are you crazy? What kind of example does that set for high school athletes? There's already kids all over the country destroying their bodies and stunting their growth with PEDs. Do some research. This isn't all about the MLB, home run records, and the scumbag ryan Braun.

Yep

A large chunk of the venom being thrown at Braun from both the media and fellow players is over the douchebag way he's handled everything and to me, Ryan deserves every bit of that venom. He brought it all on himself by first doping, then making slanderous comments about the collector's motives, and finally by multiple times not just pronouncing his innocence, but doing so in a very loud manner.

The icing on the cake was him putting out that cryptic statement yesterday where he only admits to not being perfect and having made mistakes in his past. Then he quickly bolts out of town, leaving his manager and teammates to face the fire of media questions he's to chicken-shhhittt to answer himself.

Today on OTL Quinn said he had details about Braun's doping regimen but all he mentioned were taking gummies. I tried looking to see if Quinn had an article about this but couldn't find anything. Anyone else seen any more info on the actual regimen of things he was taking/doing?

Also haven't heard many people talk about this angle and wanted to see what you guys thought. From what we've heard Braun's probably been on a regular regimen of PED's since his days at Miami. How does a guy pass over 20 drug tests in his career and only get popped once. That tells me if baseball is serious about getting clean they really need to find a way to catch up to the cheaters beating the system.

Well Simmons touched on it in the article I referenced earlier in this thread. Unless you test everyone every day, it's virtually impossible to eliminate PEDs because the regimens right now can have the drugs leaving the system within a few hours of use.

Exactly. The MLB's **** process has nothing to do with Braun's chicken **** way of handling the situation.
