Zach Jackson? The minor league pitcher? Last I heard he's been struggling so that would be a great trade for the Brewers IF it's true.

True that it would not be a major deal, but they could still add a bench bat or bullpen arm...

Maybe a minor deal but the Cubs will block anything the Brewers want to do.

Braves added another prosepct to the Texiera deal, but got a left reliever as well. Huge.

peter (boston): What about the red sox and jermain dye?

SportsNation Jonah Keri: (3:38 PM ET ) That deal is reportedly dead, according to many sources.

SportsNation Jonah Keri: (3:41 PM ET ) I just hear these really high price tag rumors on Dye. Don't know that anyone breaks the bank for him.

I'll take that any day. Almost too good to be true. I'd rather have him instead of Dunn. He's a contact hitter and a much better defender and steals bases. Plus he could leadoff.
D'Backs have zero reason to trade him, we're in a division race.

And I guess with your logic, we should've just stood pat after acquiring Linebrink.

I guess with your logic any trade is a good trade or make a move just to make a move.

What should they have done? It's not like they didn't try.

No...obviously you'd like to infer that as it would make your post logical, but I never said that. I just believe that with this team there always seems to be these foolhardy deals out there that get fans excited and they seem to always fall through.

And yes, any trade in which we recieve Eric Gagne for TGJ and Turnbow is a good deal.

And what should they have done? Closed the deal, like great teams seem to do.

There could still be trades announced. Often the paperwork takes a little time and the official announcements come a little later this afternoon.

But at this point it looks like we stand pat.

While there are certainly areas we could use improvement, making a one sided trade just to make one isn't smart.

Sometimes the best deal you make is the one you don't make.

Jeez nothing...Linebrinks ERA outside of Petco Park is over 6.00...Buster Olney talked to over 10 GM's last week all of whom said they would go nowhere near Linebrink as he is obviously in a downward cycle......his aweful ERA in July will fit right in with every other aweful ERA in that bullpen....when he decides to come back and play.

This was an incredibly disappointing day...I am so sick of watching aweful Jenkins whiff at offspead stuff in the dirt, blown leads, starters that can't go more the 5-6 innings.

Wow people are pissed. :nonono:

Seriously. Post trades that you would make right here and remember the players involved have to be on the market and the trade has to be fair.

Ready. Set. Go.
