Man

This afternoon is a pitcher of 'Woo hoo!' followed by a real dose of hungover. Man...why couldn't they just actually follow an actual rebuild path? This is all wayyyyyy tooooooo fast.

Because they were a game away from making the playoffs last season.

I would have been fine regardless. My big thing was don't stick it in halfway. So long as the Brewers aren't done making win-now moves, I'm fine with what the did. If you're gonna try and win now, **** try and win now.

Maybe we keep Santana and Braun waives his no trade??? or rotates the outfield and 1st? I am pretty Neutral on the deals today. Wouldn't mind getting Darvish though.

Career .290 hitter.

"barely above average" C'mon.

Definitely only looking at batting average is for sure the best way to judge a hitter. When you don't walk much and don't really hit for a ton of power you have to hit close to .300 to be a positive.

It's obviously not the best way to describe his hit tool, but barely above average.... I don't care what sabermetric you throw out there, barely above average is not accurate, imo.

He's actually the one I'm least concerned about of the three hitters. If he lights it up in AA (i assume he will move up to that level) then maybe I will look foolish. I think he's a great sell high candidate though.

Harrison is who i fear we'll end up regretting trading most.

I know. I get it. The Brewers for me are strictly entertainment and I love them for it. BUT, I can't help but feel this is a Mark A. meddling. AND, to your tune, if that is indeed the case or the mandate I am fascinated to see what else is in store.

Why do you guys think Broxton is going to bring us anything decent? He's 28 and was basically replacement level last year. This isn't even a well he's 24 or 25 so maybe he has some untapped potential or something.

Totally agree. Broxton is the guy who battles with Maverick for the coveted back-up and swing OF role. Santana is the guy going out - right?

I'm surprised they are still hanging onto Broxton. I would clearly take Phillips over him.

I don’t watch much baseball. Tell me how I should feel about these recent transactions.

Read on Twitter

I know we're all expecting Braun to stick around, but for real how insane would it be if they sent him...like, anywhere...and gave LF to Santana.

Not bad.

Thats a lot of money for Cain

I'm shocked Cain got five years guaranteed at 80 million in this kind of free agency market. Don't like this.

The problem is Braun controls if he leaves. The other problem is who's going to want him after an injury plagued average year with a ton of money still on his contract?

Kinda my thought. Not gonna get much for him imo.

Any chance Braun moves to 1B? Santana, Cain, Yelich then the OF with Phillips #4.

Yeah at this point I would be cool dealing him for a shot in the dark reliever

I hope Mark A. is willing to accommodate with the payroll when we're paying Cain $16 million a year at age 36 and 37. That's a huge chunk for a small market team.

Braun did say in an interview with Matzek he would be open to moving in from the OF is the team asked.

My fear is now Santana + emptying farm system for a pitcher. No way they trade Braun, Santana's trade value is much higher and the trade options for Braun are nil.

Braun will be off books so that does assist in that. I also maintain theres probably an option or buyout at the 5th year.
