Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I think the stats show that Hernandez wasn't as bad as his reputation suggests, but he's had several high profile errors and he clearly doesn't have the respect of many players or managers. It's a sad way to end a long career to the MLB, but it was past time for him to go.

Re: 2024 ATL Thread - Acuña Out for Season; Angel Hernandez Retires; MLB to Incorporate Negro League Stats
I was recently lamenting the Brewers' lack of OF production when Yelich is at DH, but then I looked at the stats and realized just how putrid the entire NL is in the outfield. I've never seen anything like it. I get that defense is at a little more of a premium, but usually you have at least a few superstars at the corners.
They can hardly field a viable all-star OF rotation at this rate (not that the ASG matters, but it's a symbol of the lack of production). Acuna is out for the season and was in a horrible slump anyway, Harper is at 1B, and Betts is at SS. Corbin Carroll has an OPS under .600 more than 1/3 of the way through the year. Profar might literally be the only OF in the entire NL who would make the ASG in a normal season, and that would be as a backup in other years. The other starters might be Chisholm and Teoscar Hernandez. Brandon Marsh might be the 4th OF at this point, and Yelich still has a solid chance despite barely playing more than half the games so far. Heck, Blake Perkins literally still has a chance if he raises his OPS a manageable ~30 points. It's that bad.

No need to roll guys to corner outfield with the NL DH now. Profar is a nice player though

It can't be just that though. The DH has been in the AL forever, and they don't lack for highly productive outfielders. In terms of productivity, you could argue that Profar is the only top-12 OF in the game from the NL right now. Judge, Soto, Tucker, Abreu, Varsho, and Duran are head-and-shoulders above anyone in the NL right now, plus there's guys like Kwan, Fry, and Pillar putting up similar value to Profar in far fewer PA's. Then it's a toss-up with a number of other AL guys being comparable to Marsh or Chisholm or whoever might be the second-most productive OF in the NL right now.
Even if you scroll down looking for guys with great numbers who don't have enough PA's to accumulate much WAR, they're almost all in the AL, with Yelich being the main exception. It's an incredible statistical quirk.

Speaking of incredible statistical quirks, I present to you Jurickson Profar's 2024 season.
I understand MLB history is littered with Esteban Loaiza All-Star starters, but still...

Yeah, I'm not even remotely suggesting that he's going to keep this up. That's why I was careful to phrase it as how productive he's been, as opposed to how good he is. Which makes the gap between AL and NL outfielders even more astounding, since the only guy in the NL having an ASG-starter caliber season is barely above a replacement level player for his career.
They should probably just let some infielders play in the OF for the ASG in order to give the honors to players who actually deserve it.

They would need to do it regardless, to be clear. Too important to not send this message, especially with some history in baseball.
But he's also a terrible player so this is not remotely surprising.

Who came up with the idiotic idea to interview players during play?

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Kiké Hernández made an error while in the midst of a live television interview Friday night during a 2-1, 11-inning win over the New York Yankees.
