Ok, I’d say Greg and the Cubs are basically dead now for the WC.

37,000 seat ball park, and that game had 15,500 paid attendance. I doubt actual attendance broke 10,000. On a day when Shohei could be going for 50/50. It's just shocking to me.

I saw a clip of a Dodgers announcer calling Shohei's final HR where he proclaimed it "the greatest day in baseball history" and I was like "it's just a home run? Calm down" until I saw the rest of the stat line. Dude had the greatest offensive performance in a single game in baseball history.

What possible reason would there be to fire David Bell with a week and a half left in the season when they have no chance to make the postseason? They have five games left.

Definitely odd timing. Guessing they told him they’re going in a different direction after the season and he likely said fire me now then. But even still, why disclose it now (if that happened). Weird. Curious who will get that gig. Its not the worst situation really. MLB Central this AM listed Barry Larkin, Sean Casey, Skip Schumacher as names to watch as there is speculation they want someone with Reds ties.

The DBacks and Mets probably would rather face us than the Padres. But they can't really tank to 6 since the Braves are 2 games out. And the Mets and Braves play each other. And the DBacks play the Padres this weekend. Going to be a fun week.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

No doubt. Mets gotta try to take care of business at Atlanta.

Arizona seems to be cooling off, 12-14 since they swept Boston late August.

Atlanta scares me because can run out Sale/Fried and our OPS is under .700 vs LH Starters, but, they may need to pitch those guys this weekend to get in.

Arizona is getting hammered by SF. Mets lost to the Braves. Someone may win 88-89 games and miss the playoffs.

I had not realised how much the Padres had been killing it. 40-16 the 2nd half of the season.

Lucas Erceg has looked quite good for the Royals this year. It's too bad we dumped him last year just before he turned into a flamethrowing reliever.

Yeah, they are a real sexy pick nationally. This is minda what was expected last year from them ironically.
