If Mets hold on:

Good news: no way Braves blow game two, we face Mets

Bad news: Mets can coast game two (not a huge deal)

Honestly I trust the Braves more to not get swept to Mets winning game one is probably the safer bet of a split being the end result

The Mets likely burned Edwin Diaz's availability in Game 1 to get the playoff spot. He threw 66 pitches between yesterday and today and had to cover 5 outs today.

It doesn't matter if the Mets have no incentive - their backups are still going to try to play well in such a high-profile game, and this is baseball. Very disappointed in the Braves loss now that Sale is scratched. It would have been much better to have the Mets use up more of their pitchers in the late game.

No Sale sucks although Holmes has been incredible through 3. Lindor sitting game 2 helps.
