Pretty rough stuff to only get two starts from Nestor (with one of them being an epic blowup) before hitting the 60 day IL.

With some of the starter coming back, is there any trade out there where we can trade pitching for hitting. Kind of like Adames trade, when we gave up Feyereisen and Rasmussen for him.

Brewers player most likely to be traded:

Trade candidate: Luis Pena

It will come down to this question: How much money do the Brewers have to make an upgrade? Consider Arenado as a potential player for them. Though the Brewers have a handful of options at third base, with Oliver Dunn and Vinny Capra getting first opportunity in a timeshare, that duo has been ineffective so far. But they're not taking on Arenado's salary.

We'll see what pops up. Last year, they did trade for Aaron Civale in early July and then Frankie Montas at the deadline to help the rotation, so ownership might be willing to expand the payroll at least a little. Pena is a teenage infielder who won the Dominican Summer League batting title in 2024, but he's behind Jesus Made and Cooper Pratt on the prospect depth chart.

A truly insane take by ESPN.

I would be curious what position they would target. Utility IF? OF/C/1B seems pretty set. Durbin I think is going to get a pretty extended look at 3B now.

I had high hopes for Mitchell since we drafted him. I'm still hopeful but it's dwindling.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I’m not debating the move as 1000% right decision to not pay Adames what he got, but as an organization is it kind of sh.tty they did not make any phone call to Adames (his story) to see what he is looking for? I get not wanting to make an insulting offer too. I find it hard to believe that not even a good luck in your future endeavors type call wasn’t had though.

In the same story Adamas also said there had been numerous discussions over the years about extensions. If that's the case I find it a little  that Adames was hurt that the Brewers didn't make an attempt once it became time for him to leave. Like, my dude, clearly the Brewers knew what the market was, what he was looking for, and they didn't want to waste anyone's time. Adames made his decision to leave a long time before he signed with SF.

That is very true. There were rumors last year that he turned down a 9 figure deal. So I mean what are the Crew to do if they made their good offer already. In the end he got paid and the Brewers didn’t burden themselves with a big contract.

Brewers are (MLB ranks):

Offense Runs per game: 4th
Starters ERA: 4th
Reliever ERA: 26th

With the starting pitchers returning, Yoho up, and hopefully Miso up at some point, hopefully we can turn that bullpen ERA around. Either way, have to like where we are given the injuries to the starting rotation.

I was going to suggest this partially as joke, partially serious because of what he's done in Nashville but I didn't post it because it would have meant a 40 man change. But I looked at the 40 man and there really wasn't a legit option because Perkins is still on the IL.

I'm very delighted by this and I'm curious to see the corresponding move.

The Yelich interview on Pardon My Take today is pretty good. He says Hoskins and Bauers are the locker room leaders

What an absolute nightmare of a trade. Watched Holobetz a bunch this season and he looked promising.
