What would it realistically cost for Bryant? Add him to this roster, Shaw more or less becomes a platoon guy and Urias as your utility. This team is actually pretty strong assuming guys start to hit again. I know he would need a huge contract to keep, but kind of feel like with our pitching that move might put us over the top

Top prospects. His agent is Boras, so he won't be signing before free agency. Knowing that, you might as well wait until the offseason if you think you're gonna be putting in a competitive offer. I don't see that happening. He'll be 30 at the start of next season and declining every year.

A fair amount of lefties coming up. I know it's mostly about "getting right" and he hit the ball well, but they didn't face any the last few weeks...now several coming up.

Lindblom finally DFA'd. Been a rough couple seasons for Stearns.

Remember how disappointed some were about not keeping Grandal/Moustakas on the longer-term deals? I a lot of fans "got it" that they didn't fit into the long-term budget assuming our usual payroll, but after both having pretty good COVID seasons, Moustakas has been hurt most of this year and Grandal, outside of being a walk god, has sucked. Grandal has maintained a positive offensive WAR just by having a .385 OBP while not hitting the ball other than homers.

So what could we get for Yelich? How much value does he have with his big ol' contract? He's been a massive disappointment.

Between our top three highest paid players (Yeli, Cain, and JB), along with Hiura, no-showing this season, it's a miracle this team has had any success at all.

What do you even do with Hiura at this point?

Brewers could get nothing. They'd also be paying a massive portion of his salary. Brewers have no choice but to hope he rebounds.

So how do we feel about a potential Jesus Aguilar reunion?

We do need a RH platoon-mate at 1B, though Aguilar could probably take most of the ABs over Big Dan if that was the choice.

The Marlins should be competitive but they keep losing members of their good pitching rotation, so maybe they're looking to sell...but they may be asking a bit much.

More likely I think we just wait another month and get CJ Cron from the Rockies for a bag of baseballs and he won't be much worse in the platoon with Dan than Aguilar on aggregate.

Good, he's been absolutely terrible. He's not the only one though
