our closer, now your closer, along with his agent, decided to be sketchy SOB's and not give our GM an indication on teams interested or the amount of money offered. For all we knew we were bidding against ourselves. Thus he took $4 million more from you guys and we had to look at the next available option.
I was wondering about that situation, back in the summer I read a couple of articles that said the Brewers were only willing to go to 42 million and the reds offered 46. I figured the Brewers would have matched that, but he didn't give them a chance? Well, the 10 million dollar man did his job.
You guys are a pretty classy bunch. Thanks for putting up with me tonight.

So, as a closer what did you think of him? Because I felt that this team needed a lot of things before it needed a high priced closer. You have to have a lead to use a closer effectively.

He was a great closer who would have one maybe two stretches of bad outings a year.

I think that's what most people around the league believe. There is no doubt that he is a great closer (after he resurrected his career in Milwaukee). However, I don't know giving him a contract of that length was smart.

I guess maybe we need to give him some credit or his agent. He was probably looking at all of the teams in the league and found mine and said to himself. Wow, if I sign with them I won't ever have to pitch to get rich. Kinda sorta like that Aflac duck. Because we sure haven't gotten to him in a while now.
Again, thanks for putting up with me. Tomorrow is another day, which is the good thing about baseball. But, I don't see the Reds doing anything but fighting for a spot out of the basement.

He, what a ****ing shock, Ben Sheets has another boo-boo. Who had April 18th in the pool?
Lift some weights and grow a pair and you wouldn't sit out three months for feeling a little woozy.

"Soreness in the tricep" is all we know. Apparently he had soreness all week.
