Dodgers have released their own DTC streamer. They're charging $29.99 a month. Completely ridiculous.

Thoroughly enjoyed starting my morning by watching the Cubs lose the 1st game of the MLB season
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

TIL those games in Japan were regular season. How weird. I feel like there was really little fanfare for it.

Definitely weird. 5 a.m. start here
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Cubs playoff percentage dropped 7% in a week.

Re: 2025 ATL Thread - Season Begins in Japan
I posted about these in the IGT, but further information here. I'm fascinated to see how these play out, if the Yankees are successful I'd imagine other MLB teams will be using similar bats very soon

Would honestly bring Ruiz back for AAA depth if nothing else. Our OF there seems pretty lacking. Plus it would be funny.

Re: 2025 ATL Thread - Season Begins in Japan
Using the trendy torpedo bat for the first time, Elly De La Cruz had a single, double and two home runs for a career-high seven RBIs as the Cincinnati Reds routed the Texas Rangers 14-3 on Monday night.
De La Cruz spoke with reporters after the win and was asked about his bat choice, and whether the 3-0 Yankees influenced his decision.
"No," he said. "It was because of, 'How's it feel like?'" And then when asked if he'd use it again, he looked down at the podium and laughed.

Did they not stress test these new bats before approving them? Is MLB's competition committee just incompetent? Why is it that baseball always seems to be the only sport that finds themselves constantly in these equipment controversies?

97 mph fastball, 93 mph sharp slider, 91 mph change with huge arm-side break. Two k's. I'm **** FURIOUS.

If this is a Shane Smith post it's definitely looking like a pretty big misstep to not protect him on the 40 man.

It is. His command isn't great, but his stuff is 100% legit. I've got Patrick on one screen and Smith on the other and there's zero doubt as to who's better. I won't even buy the injury or innings pitched excuse. They could have just had both. It's absolutely insane.

Sure glad we saved 40 man spots for Connor Thomas, Grant Anderson, and Grant Wolfram though.
