How Matt Wise still has a job boggles my mind more than the Electoral College.

Very, very, very frustrating loss

You're right, but looking at the upcoming schedule, as well as that of the Cubs.... we needed this game tonight.

You don't put in your closer in a tie game on the road, but this scenario is different. I think you have to put CoCo in regardless, we have to play all of our cards at this point.

Unfortunately, we had our Ace in the 'pen and the Jester decided to play the Joker.

Matt Wise is a soft throwing pitcher that can't find the plate. When he can't find the plate that leads to him throwing that 80 some mph fast ball right down the middle and that's why he sucks. He sucks, get rid of him. He's gone the way of Kolb.

I think the Jester was too busy playing with his Joker

You would put wise in? Why?

If we can't use Turnbow, with men on base, and Linebrink/Shouse are already gone having given up 3ER, we have to pitch somebody.

Apparently we should use nothing but Shouse/Linebrink/Cordero in any close game the rest of the way, starting in the 7th.

Hey but I don't disagree, Yost sucks. And as I said, I would have used Cordero against the Astros meat.

The Brewers NEEDED to sweep this team in my mind with Smoltz and Hudson lined up in Atlanta. NEEDED to. 2 out of 3 is great in July. 2 out of 3 now is is missing an opportunity to sweep. Huge loss.

Matt Wise is one of the worst pitchers on this team. He has no confidence in any of his pitches anymore since he hit that guy in the face and you put him in the game in one of the most important games of the year???? ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC.

You actually expected us to sweep a team on the road?

It can't be ignored that this bullpen is flat out wretched. We've got very little in the way or reliable arms. Cordero, Shouse...um, am I missing anyone?

If this team is set on winning this division, yes, against the worst team in the division, with three rookie starters going for the Astros, I think a sweep should be expected, even with the Brewers wretched road record.

Postseason or not, this bullpen needs to be addressed in the offseason

Yost = the greatest moron to ever coach a playoff contender. Weeks lets him off the hook and Yost gives it right back. Moronnnnnnn.

Even funnier he lets him bat in the 7th, he gets a hit and then he doesn't even let him start the next inning.

That was really awkward, and I think not enough attention is being put into it. Bush bats in the top of the 7th, base hit, winds up stranded at 3rd due to Braun sucking the entire night and no runs come across. So you figure he's coming in to pitch the 7th, but instead is taken out. Hardy comes in at short and bats 9th in the pitcher's spot, Jenkins comes in to play left, Joe Dillon is out, Jenkins batting 2nd. Pitcher's spot (which is Linebrink) moves to the 3 hole with Braun coming out of the game for defensive purposes, Counsell moves to third, still bats 8th.

All of this...why? Defensive purposes, yes, but then why not have a pinch hitter for Bush if you were going to take him out anyways?

Don't entirely disagree, as I said, I would have brought Cordero in in the 10th, although I maybe would have left Stetter (although I doubt it) in for one batter, as Palmeiro was a pretty obvious choice as a pinchy.

However, I wouldn't have hesitated to bring Wise in in the 11th. And shockingly, he still has a better ERA than half the bullpen.

I've heard the same things about cutting Spurling, etc.

Somebody has to round out are bullpen. And they are going to have to eventually pitch in a close game, in a 17 game in 17 day stretch.

But as I said, I get your point, and Ned does suck.

I do agree with this, although of course I could pull several posts from you guys all year to this effect:

"Doesn't Ned learn that Bush is horrible in the 6th and 7th?"""

But I was sort of surprised Bush got the hook at the start of the inning without giving up baserunners.

That just shows you that he never learns anything. The guy is throwing great and at only 78 pitches. JJ Hardy should have started. Braun should have never been replaced in a one run game. Yost=(Please Use More Appropriate Word).
