Cubs, Cards and Reds all won. Had to keep pace.

Check that. Cubs losing in the 11th

Getting all the key bullpen guys a day off, Yelich hitting a walkoff GS. Hard to ask for more. Wow

Big win for Crew! What a finish and maybe a win that jump starts something. Tough that Cubs keep winning but Wild Card is maybe looking slightly more realistic with San Diego struggling and Giants on like a 7-10 stretch.

With Woody and Quintana looming, Murphy's comments tonight indicate Patrick will be sent down.

We saw this coming months ago. Talked about it on here. There's more capable SP in the org than there are spots in the rotation. It's a nice problem to have, but I think it's fair to wonder if they're screwing over the big club by sending Henderson and Patrick down, or Myers for that matter.

I think I'm good with giving the one year vets the spots. Hope they look good for the next two months, deal them for lottery tickets, bring the younger guys back up in August. It's probably the best case scenario.

Despite his struggles, Christian Yelich is currently on pace for a 30/30 season

With Peralta going today we really need to finally get back above .500 with the Phillies on deck.

Also, there's the whole innings management thing. Agree with the idea of innings management or not, they can control that more easily in the minors. That, and as good as Henderson and Patrick have been, especially with Patrick, those guys struggle to get past the 5th under 100 pitches...it makes innings management even harder. Quintana, Civale, etc. have a more mature array of pitches to get past that point.

He got out of it but it looks like another short outing for Freddy. Good thing tomorrow is an off day.

Peralta battling. Hopefully can get 5 out of him with a much needed 1-2-3 3rd inning, but will need another quick inning probably.
